We watched the 1967 psychological thriller film “Wait Until Dark” in October 2022. We discussed the choice of Audrey Hepburn to play a blind woman; the Roach’s choice to go all in with disguises; and how the whole thing could have been avoided if it weren’t for the bratty neighbor girl. We watched the British series “Don’t Hug Me .I’m Scared” in summer and September 2022. This is a dark comedy absurdist nonsensical show that parodies but also explores the ideas of young children’s shows, defying all expectations. We watched the HBO original series “Sort Of” in July 2022. We didn’t realize until episode 7 or 8 that the show is set in Toronto; it could just as easily be a U.S. city. If you’re still on the fence about watching this show, it just won Best Comedy Series (Canadian Screen Awards), Bilal Baig won Best Writing in a Comedy Series (for the first episode), and Jessica Carter and Steve Newburn won Best Makeup (for the last episode); and others were nominated for many more.  Leave a comment! We watched the 2019 movie “Knives Out” in June 2022. With an all-star cast and some sharp decor, this mystery has more twists and turns than devious family members. Christopher Plummer plays expertly, Chris Evans rocks a sweater, Daniel Craig’s accent is ridiculous, and Ana de Armas wins the day in this delightful romp. We watched the season finale of Doctor Who (series 4) some time ago. We appreciate RTD’s ability to write a smashing big finale and look forward to all the potential that comes with RTD as the showrunner again in the future.
