Nine Years Sober
2026/01/14
Ep #321: Nine years ago, I made a decision that changed my life in so many ways I could not have prognosticated this life I live if you had given me a million guesses. The mantra, and there are many, that seems to be ringing the loudest today is, "I can do hard things." You might have self-doubt. You might feel worthless. You might feel the opposite. One thing I know to be true, even without knowing you, is that you have value. You have worth. You are an amazing person who has experienced many tragedies and traumatic moments. I don't have all the answers. I do know I am searching for them. I know that I awake each day seeking something far greater than I, and from this energy, I bring this show to you.  Here is to another day, week, month, year, and all that is beyond this day and more than all of that...here is to this moment right now. That is what we have. Let's make the most of it. Repeat after me: I can do hard things. I do hard things. I complete hard things. Life is made harder when we are hard on each other. Today I choose inclusivity. Today I choose sobriety. I do hard things.  I do them today. I will do them tomorrow. Inclusivity over Exclusivity The power of positive energy: Release and Flow. Every day is the best day of our lives when we wake up sober. Shout out to Sunshine and Robert Glow on! Just hit play, and let's dive in with open minds and hearts—you are in the right place at the right time—right now! ******************************************** PLEASE SUBSCRIBE, FOLLOW, RATE, AND REVIEW my show on your preferred streaming app. Every little bit helps this show reach those who need it most. What I learned in 2025: The Accomplishment Loop, Goal setting, Emotional Management, Burnout, Discipline
2026/01/03
Ep 320: 2025 was one heckuva year. In this episode, I will cover how the ideas you have about what you want your life to become can be best achieved by laying out a plan, strategizing your actions, and figuring out the logistics of taking those actions. We will touch on SMART goals, how others' actions are not an attack on you but are done for a positive gain for themselves, how to notice burnout in yourself, what to do when you feel it, and we will close with a cheerleader-esque megaphone encouraging you to push past the difficulties and leave nothing for the swim back. Pour yourself into everything you do because the biggest regrets we have in life are the times we didn't go all in and take that chance to go big and become more than we ever imagined! New Beginnings: Stopping, Starting, and Changing
2025/12/05
Ep #319: Being able to start new things, stop old unwanted behaviors, and change things about yourself is something we are all looping on regularly. In this rather long episode, I am going to break down in depth why you have blocks around stopping, starting, and changing things in your life, and how you can break through those blocks physiologically and psychologically.  Long-term addiction recovery is everyone's goal. Along the way, there will be identity statements holding you back. Behaviors that are no longer beneficial. Outcomes that we wish we could change. Choosing a life of sobriety is the start of a new beginning. The ongoing lifelong journey of addiction recovery requires introspection into even the darkest corners of your life. You are strong. You are powerful. You are a survivor. It's time to charge into the THRIVOR, I know you can be! Just hit play, and let’s dive in with open minds and hearts—you are in the right place at the right time—right now! ******************************************** PLEASE SUBSCRIBE, FOLLOW, RATE, AND REVIEW my show on your preferred streaming app. Every little bit helps this show reach those who need it most. Kratom: The why and how of its addiction w/ guest Tim T.
2025/10/03
Ep #318: Sold next to candy at gas stations. Marketed as safe. But is kratom really harmless? What happens when a “safe alternative” turns out to be anything but safe? In this raw and eye-opening conversation, I sit down with Tim, a longtime listener turned client, to share the truth about kratom, from its growing popularity to the devastating consequences it hides. Between crippling withdrawals to unregulated pills laced with fentanyl, this episode shines a light on the dark side of a substance many dismiss as harmless. Highlights: The unbearable reality of kratom withdrawals lasting weeks How “gas station pills” can mask a fentanyl risk Why kratom hooks the brain like opioids Tim’s journey from back pain relief to full-blown dependency The role of suboxone in breaking free Listen now before you - or someone you love - takes that first dose. Back from hiatus: Self-doubt, self-care, and prioritization
2025/09/18
Ep 317: The show is back. I'll be discussing losing faith in myself and how self-doubt can manifest in various forms. We will cover self-care, boundaries, and how to prioritize what you desire in your addiction recovery. Long-time listeners, you will notice my rambunctious nature here. Newcomers, not all episodes flow like this, and this here is an opportunity to speak raw and real with you all about how my addiction recovery, though 8+ years strong, has its peaks and canyons just like everyone's life has. As I say in this episode, it's not sobriety that sucks; sometimes it's just life kicking and kicking, and we gotta regroup or else lose our grip. ******************************************** Are you enjoying the show? Sobriety is a start to your new life; Recovery is the life long journey
2025/05/27
Ep #316 - Sobriety and recovery are vast journies apart from one another as sobriety is the decision to no longer use a substance or behavior to reduce, negate, or buffering through your feelings and emotions, and recovery is the journey you make to understand why you needed a behavior or substance to buffer in the first place. As you begin to adventure within yourself, you are going to uncover many things you didn't even realize are a part of this landscape that you are now face-to-face with. I wish there were a magic wand that you could wave and be all better, BUT then I wonder if any of us would value our long-term addiction recovery if it were that easy to "fix" as often we only value things that are hard-won and can be easily lost. Just hit play, and let's dive in with open minds and hearts—you are in the right place, at the right time—right now. ******************************************** PLEASE SUBSCRIBE, FOLLOW, RATE, AND REVIEW my show on your preferred streaming app. Every little bit helps this show reach those who need it most. ******************************************** Please support the show (I’m a one-man band over here) Free ebooks and links for coaching and the like: https://stan.store/jessemogle Buy me a coffee to keep me going:  http://buymeacoffee.com/jessemogle Support me on Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/jessemogle ******************************************** Website: https://www.jessemogle.com Please email me: [email protected] ******************************************** Complimentary 30-minute call with me: callcoachjesse.com Tik Tok: http://www.tiktok.com/@jessemogle Instagram: https://instagram.com/fromsobrietytorecovery LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/jessemogle/ From Sobriety to Recovery Podcast: https://www.jessemogle.comfromsobrietytorecovery/ College Success Habits Podcast: https://www.jessemogle.com/collegesuccesshabitspodcast/ ********************************************  Join the From Sobriety to Recovery Tribe: https://www.jessemogle.com/thehub/ ********************************************   It is time. 7 Sobriety Principles: Growth Mindset, Courage, Decisiveness, and Action - Part 1
2025/03/03
Ep #315: My 7 Powerful Principles, the same ones from my College Success Habits book, are the foundation for my lifestyle, let alone my sobriety and recovery. Today, we bring them back and give them a two-episode spotlight.  Where are you developing your growth mindset in your life? Believing you are courageous starts with the courage to feel emotions. Being decisive and taking action doesn't mean just making the decision and acting upon it. It means staying steadfast in your determination to see the decision through and continuing to take action, even the smallest of steps, so that each and every day your head hits the pillow and you feel good about what you accomplished.  You do not have to move a mountain every day to feel like you are accomplishing your goals. Do things to get better at doing things. That is the pattern to build, the habit loop to forge. ******************************************** Please support the show! Learn Neuro-Linguistic Programming with Aubrie Pohl and Jesse Mogle
2025/02/17
Ep #314: Neuro-Linguistic Programming. If you are a mentor, life or addiction recovery coach, and/or sponsor - this episode is the message you have been waiting for. You know how you talk to people and you feel like your message isn't getting across? The main problem is that we can not force someone to act. We can not make that horse drink. We know, deep inside, "You cannot shame someone into action, only inspire them into change" (Aubrie Pohl). Imagine your leadership, mentorship, sponsorship, and LIFE as guided by your own internal strength toward your life's mission! Is my NLP class the only way? NO. It is not. And yet, it is the way that saved my life. It has saved countless lives. I know there is an aspect of your life that you are starving to change. I know there are people in your life who are starving for your guidance. For your best self. For you to ask that question that topples their limiting beliefs because in that question you inspire them to motivate themselves to tear down their walls. This episode will tell you how you can start this journey with Aubrie and I. It is up to you to go to jessemogle.com/nlp and make this a reality for yourself. Secondary Gain: Identifying what to stop, start, change
2025/02/12
Ep #313: Self-awareness is a beautiful thing, but you want to monitor how you experience it: first-person through your own eyes, second-person through another person's eyes, or third-person through that observer's eyes. When we go to make a change, we experience that part of ourselves through one of these points of view. That starting, stopping, and changing we seek in our lives will attach itself to a secondary gain that we may not even be aware of yet - and then we wonder why that thing we desire to release keeps sticking around. You gotta click play to hear how this is playing out in your life! Procrastination: Anxiety, Stress, and Emotional Intelligence
2025/01/29
Ep #312: Procrastination will eat alive from the insides. What is it that you are really procrastinating from doing? You might think it is starting the thing, doing the thing, changing the thing, or stopping the thing - but upon further review, there is a lot more at play when we postpone the starting, doing, changing, or stopping the thing that we have been thinking, feeling, and probably ruminating on for quite a bit of time. In this episode, we are going to dive into what makes me, you, us, procrastinate and how we can identify what is really at the root of the postponement so we can increase self-awareness about ourselves, take action from that grounded surface, and evaluate the results so that maybe, just maybe, next time we get right into rather than letting time slip through our fingers. Day 1 or 1000: Creating Confidence in Your Sobriety and Recovery Journey
2025/01/01
Ep #310: Happy New Year. I'm not going to roll out the same "New Year, New You," trope I've done in the past and you've heard before. If you are on Day 1 or some days into your journey, you might be wondering how on earth you will figure out how to create your new life with so many or so few options (all subjective to your mindset and perspective).  Today, I will iron out the system I created to help me figure out what's important for me to focus on and how you can use this system to take one step every day toward the version of yourself you want sobriety to be the foundation for you to create. It's Day 1 of the new year which is not as relevant to your overall life experience as the hype would have you believe. One day closer to handing off the baton. One day further along. One day is just another day until you stack up many of these days and realize you've created a new skyscraper that is your life - and it all started on the day you started. Leadership is for losers: The addict voice will go away...in time
2024/12/24
Ep #309: We have all lost something. Something that mattered so much to us we thought we could never go on, never be the same, never heal. The agony of defeat when we tried the first time to quit. The disappointment we feel in ourselves when we let people down - ourselves, most importantly.  Inside all of us are many, many voices that talk to us, tell us what to do, lie to us, support us, and are with us all the time because they are voices, often not our own, that we have picked up on our journey of life. What voice do you hear when a craving comes? What voice do you hear when your addiction vice is within arms reach? The voices are there and then not there and then there again. When we "fail." When we experience the defeats in life that is when the true leader in your arrives, shows up, and is able to build the resiliency that is so important to thriving through the trails and tribulations life knocks on our door with whether we want them or not.
