Action Produces Information: How Conviction Is Built in the Unknown
2026/09/30
“Action produces information. The more you do, the more you learn, and you create opportunities for yourself.”
What if conviction doesn’t come before the leap?
What if the leap is what creates the conviction?
Fahim Ferdous started coding at 9 years old when people around him told him it was too advanced.
He kept going.
Years later, when he and his co-founders were building AdQuick, the “no’s” kept coming.
Venture Capitalists said no.
Customers said no.
He even talked himself out of starting the company.
But instead of treating rejection as proof that he was wrong, Fahim learned to see it as part of the process that built conviction.
In this episode of the Earning Conviction Series, Fahim and Glenn Llopis explore:
🔥 Why rejection can become fuel
🧠 How hiding behind what you’re good at can stop your growth
🎯 Why following your instincts doesn’t mean ignoring feedback
🚀 How action creates information and new possibilities
💡 Why the things you “play around with” can become something much bigger
🔄 How staying in motion helps you discover what’s next
🌎 Why innovators have to help make the world ready for what they see
And maybe the biggest lesson:
You don't need to know exactly where you're going before you start moving.
Keep moving.
Keep learning.
Keep building.
A little bit every day.
Because conviction isn't always found in certainty.
Sometimes it's earned in the unknown.

Same Wound, Two Ages: The Conviction Crisis and the Editing Crisis
2026/08/18
“The edit didn't start at 45. It started in the hallway, in a group chat, in a classroom, long before anyone handed them a title.”
We spend a lot of time talking about fixing leadership.
But what if we're looking at the problem too late?
In this episode of the Earning Conviction Series, Glenn Llopis explores the connection between two crises happening at opposite ends of life:
The conviction crisis in accomplished adults who have lost touch with who they really are.
And the editing crisis happening to teenagers and young adults before they ever have the chance to
discover who they are.
Glenn explores:
🧠 Why successful leaders can quietly lose contact with themselves
⚙️ How standardization teaches people to perform instead of personalize
🔄 Why reinvention is actually reclamation
🔥 What conviction really means—and why it can't be borrowed
🎯 The five rings where a loss of conviction begins to affect your life
📱 Why the same questions we're asking executives are already resonating with teenagers
❤️ Why parents shouldn't wait for the crisis—they should prevent it
Because the goal isn't to become someone new.
It's to reclaim the person you were before the world edited you.

Will AI Make You Smarter—or Stop You From Thinking?
2026/08/18
“AI cannot be allowed to strip away our ability to make decisions, make judgment, and still be the ones making the final call.”
AI can give us answers faster than ever.
But what happens when getting the answer becomes more important than learning how to think?
In this episode of the Earning Conviction Series, Glenn Llopis sits down with Rohit Begani, CTO & Co-Founder of AceUp, to explore a different vision for AI—one designed not to replace human judgment, but to strengthen it. Glenn and Rohit discuss:
🤖 Why AI is accelerating standardization—and why that could make individuality even more important
🧠 Why people initially rejected AI coaching because they wanted answers instead of reflection
🎯 How AI can personalize coaching without taking away someone's ability to make their own decisions
💬 Why role-playing difficult conversations can turn leadership theory into actual behavior
🔎 How AI can uncover the gap between how organizations think they operate and what employees actually experience
🔐 Why privacy, transparency, and psychological safety are essential to responsible AI coaching
⏱️ How AI can become a continuous accountability partner instead of another tool you use once and forget
🔥 And why the ultimate goal isn't faster answers—it's stronger judgment, clearer decisions, and deeper conviction
The future of AI shouldn't be about making humans unnecessary.
It should be about helping humans become more capable of thinking, deciding, and leading for themselves.

Stop Following Someone Else's Playbook
2026/08/18
“If you allow everyone else to dictate what you do, you’re going to be playing their game, not your game.”
Most people don't get stuck in their careers because they lack ability.
They get stuck because they've spent too long following someone else's playbook.
In this episode of the Earning Conviction Series, Glenn Llopis sits down with Fran Berrick, Founder of Spearmint Coaching, to explore what it really takes to build a career around self-awareness, curiosity, and conviction. Fran and Glenn discuss:
🎓 Why colleges aren't preparing students for the realities of today's careers
❓ Why asking better questions may be more valuable than having all the answers
🧠 How self-knowledge helps you understand where you actually belong
⚠️ Why inertia and "sunk cost" thinking keep talented people trapped
🔥 Why conviction comes from action—not certainty
💼 How to know when it's time to stop defending your current career and start building what's next
🏌️ What golf can teach us about adversity, self-management, and zooming out when challenges feel overwhelming
Because the goal isn't to find the perfect playbook.

Your Leadership Might Be an Outdated Operating System
2026/08/17
“That’s not a badge of honor. It’s a badge of armor.”
We celebrate overachievement.
The packed calendar.
The endless workload.
The constant availability.
The ability to keep pushing.
But what if some of what we call ambition is actually self-protection?
In this episode of the Earning Conviction Series, Glenn Llopis sits down with Dr. Rosie Ward, leadership psychologist and co-author of Future-Proofing Leadership, to explore the invisible operating system shaping how leaders think, behave, and respond under pressure. Rosie and Glenn unpack:
🧠 Why many leaders don't have a capability problem—they have an awareness problem
⚙️ How outdated "inner operating systems" continue driving modern leadership decisions
🎭 Why overachievement can become a form of armor rather than a badge of success
🤖 Why AI can expose leadership gaps that technology can't solve for you
💬 How our early experiences shape when we speak up, stay quiet, seek approval, or avoid conflict
❤️ Why being human—including mistakes, emotions, and uncertainty—is a leadership capability
🌱 How leaders can begin reclaiming themselves through self-awareness and reflection
🔄 Why organizational transformation requires a collective mindset transformation—not another leadership course
The future doesn't just need leaders with better skills.
It needs leaders willing to do the uncomfortable work of understanding themselves.

153: The Difference Between Confidence and Conviction
2026/07/15
"The confidence you're projecting may be real—but is it confidence in your judgment, or just confidence in your performance?"
Many leaders don't struggle because they lack confidence.
They struggle because they've learned how to perform confidence so well that they've stopped noticing the difference.
In this episode of the Earning Conviction Series, Glenn Llopis explores the hidden leadership trap that keeps teams from solving real problems—and keeps leaders carrying burdens they were never meant to carry alone.
Glenn shares:
🎭 Why performed confidence often becomes a form of self-protection
⚠️ The payroll meeting that changed how he leads forever
🪞 How the "Embarrassment Audit" uncovers the blind spots that quietly limit teams
💡 Why conviction isn't built through success—it's built by holding your values under pressure
📝 A practical exercise called the "Conviction Record" to strengthen authentic decision-making
🌱 How one honest conversation can create more trust than months of polished leadership
Because people don't need leaders who always have the answers.
They need leaders who are grounded enough to tell the truth.

152: Inside the Reinvention Summit: Real Stories of Transformation
2026/07/12
"People don't leave the Reinvention Summit with more information—they leave seeing themselves differently."
What happens when leaders stop performing and start telling the truth?
In this special episode of the Personalization Outbreak Podcast, Glenn Llopis sits down with participants immediately following the Reinvention Summit to hear, in their own words, what changed.
Their reflections reveal a common experience:
🌱 Feeling truly seen for the first time in years
💡 Discovering strengths they had overlooked in themselves
🤝 Building authentic connections through psychological safety
🧠 Gaining clarity about purpose, identity, and what comes next
❤️ Finding the courage to stop living from expectations and start living from conviction
This isn't a conversation about leadership theory.
It's about real people discovering what happens when they're given the space to be honest, vulnerable, and fully themselves.
Because reinvention doesn't begin when you learn something new.
It begins when you finally see yourself clearly.

151: The Original Soccer Mom Who Changed Women's Sports Forever
2026/07/08
"When the biggest moment of your life arrives, confidence doesn't come from courage—it comes from preparation."
World champions aren't defined by one extraordinary moment.
They're defined by thousands of ordinary moments that nobody sees.
In this episode of the Personalization Outbreak Podcast, Glenn Llopis sits down with legendary U.S. Women's National Team defender Joy Fawcett to explore the conviction behind one of the greatest careers in women's sports. Isabelle Fuhrman, also, joins in on this episode to share some about Netflix's upcoming film, The 99ers, where she highlights the story of the 1999 Women's National Soccer Team.
Joy shares:
⚽ How relentless preparation made pressure-filled moments feel familiar
🏆 What it took to help build one of the greatest dynasties in sports history
👩👧👦 How she became the first U.S. Women's National Team player to return after having children—and continued winning at the highest level
🤝 Why leadership isn't always loud—and how consistency builds trust
💪 The unseen work that helped grow women's soccer both on and off the field

150: The Difference Between Leading and Surviving
2026/06/24
“Leadership that costs you your health, your peace, or your identity is not leadership — it’s survival.”
Too many leaders don’t realize they’ve stopped leading.
They’re just surviving.
In this episode of the Personalization Outbreak Podcast, Glenn Llopis sits down with Randy, former C-suite executive and author of The Art of Transformation, to explore the hidden cost of success and what happens when achievement comes at the expense of the human being behind the title.
Randy shares:
⚠️ How high performers can slowly lose themselves inside successful organizations
💼 Why giving everything to a company doesn’t always mean your contribution will be seen
🧠 The moment he realized he needed a “corporate detox” and a new path forward
🔥 How burnout, stress, and relentless pace affected his health
🌱 Why leaders must protect the person behind the role
⚖️ The shared responsibility between organizations and individuals
💡 The difference between a leader who is surviving and one who is truly leading
Because the ultimate question isn’t just:
“How successful can you become?”
But, rather:
“Who do you become while achieving success?”

149: The Armor That Made You Successful Is Holding You Back
2026/06/20
"In writing, privately, go back through your career and find the moments when you felt most fully alive in the work. Not most successful, but most alive. See, those moments are not nostalgia. They are the blueprint of who you are when the armor isn't yet fully in place."
Success has a hidden cost.
The same behaviors that help you advance can slowly disconnect you from who you actually are.
In this episode of the Earning Conviction Series, Glenn Llopis explores the standardization trap—how leaders learn to adapt, perform, and succeed until the very qualities that made them exceptional become harder to access.
Glenn explains:
🛡️ How the “armor” leaders build early in their careers protects them—but eventually limits them
⚠️ Why organizations unintentionally reward conformity over individuality
🧠 How successful leaders can reach a point where they know what everyone else thinks—but no longer know what they think
💡 Why individuality is not just personal expression, but a strategic leadership advantage
🗣️ The power of saying “I don’t know” and creating space for real innovation
🌱 How leaders can reclaim the perspective, instincts, and convictions they may have buried over time
Because the goal of leadership isn’t to become the perfect version of what the system expects.
It’s to become more fully yourself.

148: When Your Conviction Becomes a Threat to the System
2026/06/15
"My body told me the truth before I was ready to accept it."
The system that rewards you today can become the same system that breaks you tomorrow.
In this episode of the Earning Conviction Series, Santi Strasser—The Resilience Architect—joins Glenn Llopis to share a deeply personal story about leadership, innovation, burnout, and what happens when conviction collides with bureaucracy.
Santi explains:
🔥 How he built a high-performing, purpose-driven team inside a Fortune 500 company
⚠️ What happens when the environment around you changes and stops rewarding what made you successful
🧠 Why leaders slowly abandon their convictions one compromise at a time
💥 How his body warned him before he was ready to listen
🌱 Why purpose without pace can become self-destructive

147: The Dark Side of Personalization No One Talks About
2026/06/01
Personalization has become one of the most celebrated leadership skills of our time.
But there's a version of personalization that quietly exhausts even the most capable leaders.
In this episode of the Earning Conviction Series, Glenn Llopis explores the hidden danger of adapting so well to others that you eventually lose touch with yourself.
🧠 Why personalization without conviction becomes performance
⚠️ The subtle difference between adapting from your core and adapting for approval
🎭 How emotionally intelligent leaders unintentionally abandon their own perspective
🔄 The trigger patterns that slowly erode self-trust
💥 Why adaptability without a fixed point eventually becomes drift
🌱 How earning conviction creates sustainable leadership
If you've ever walked away from a conversation feeling drained, uncertain, or disconnected from your own thinking, this episode may explain why.
Because personalization is only sustainable when it flows from conviction—not toward approval.

146: You're Not Burned Out. You're Performing.
2026/05/31
Most leaders think they're exhausted because they're working too hard.
They're not.
They're exhausted from performing.
In this episode of the Earning Conviction Series, Glenn Llopis explores a hidden truth behind leadership burnout:
⚠️ Why exhaustion often comes from managing perception, not workload
🛡️ How the "armor" that helped you succeed may now be draining your energy

145: AI Is Making Human Skills More Valuable Than Ever
2026/05/29
"The technical skills only take you so far. The durable skills are what allow you to really excel, allow people who know how to do things to become leaders or managers of other people who do those things, maybe, down the road. We all know people who know how to do things, but don't ascend to helping others do things or leading others who do things. And that's because the deficits may be in durable skills more than anything else."
AI isn’t replacing human potential.
It’s exposing what actually makes humans valuable.
In this episode of the Personalization Outbreak Podcast, John Woods—Chief Academic Officer at the University of Phoenix—joins Glenn Llopis to explain:
🤖 Why AI is transforming how people learn faster than ever before
🧠 Why “durable skills” like self-awareness and judgment matter more now
⚠️ The hidden risk of relying on technical skills alone
🎯 How workers are independently learning AI while organizations struggle to adapt
🌱 Why identity, dignity, and mentorship are becoming competitive advantages
💥 What companies must do now to retain talent in the AI era
If organizations focus only on productivity, they’ll miss the real transformation happening underneath.
Because the future of work won’t belong to the most automated people.
It’ll belong to the most adaptable human beings.

144: Burnout and Success: The Cycle of High Achieving Individuals
2026/05/21
"I think a lot of these high performers mistake endurance for strength. And they believe that if they just keep on going, I hear this all the time, "I just got to keep going. " There's restructuring, reorganization, and they just say, "I just need to keep pushing through." And that is endurance, but that's not strength."
Burnout isn’t always caused by too much work.
Sometimes it’s caused by becoming someone you were never meant to be.
On this season of Personalization Outbreak Podcast, Glenn Llopis shares a thought - conviction isn't a given, it's earned. Earning Conviction kicks off with Dr. Suzan Song—psychiatrist, researcher, and author of Why We Suffer and How We Heal. Dr. Song joins Glenn Llopis to explain:
🧠 Why so many high performers confuse endurance with strength
⚠️ The hidden reason successful people still feel empty
🎭 How workplaces reward overfunctioning—and call it leadership
👀 Why most “personalization” efforts at work still feel superficial
💥 How leaders lose trust when they become performative under pressure
🌱 What healing, alignment, and sustainable leadership actually require
If your success is costing your identity, it may be time to rethink what winning means.
