I just closed out another logbook and after about 3,400 hours of flight time and 35 plus models of aircraft flown I reflect on some of my more notable memories. Going through them all would take several hours so maybe there will be another podcast on this in the future. Hope you all enjoy some of the stories! Today's guest is Kyle Cuter with over 28 years of service in the U.S. Army. Kyle and I were both deployed in Afghanistan when we received the call that another Apache had been shot and damaged and we were to go and assess the helicopter and if possible, fly it back to a location where it could receive major repairs.  The events that unfolded lead to us losing an engine inflight over the inhospitable desert in northern Afghanistan If you haven't listened to the previous podcast EP 005 Shot and forced to land in Afghanistan, go back and check it out as it is the precursor to this story!  Listen as we talk about it all from engine failure in an Apache, life as a maintenance test pilot and how Kyle managed to bike out of the mountains and get 27 miles to his house after a heart attack!
