For some, it finds it’s rhythm in the carving of wood or the molding of clay or the capturing of an image or the raising of offspring. For the wordsmith, abstract symbols on a page are gathered to form a word which combines with others to import meaning which then become the backbone of the song or the poem and the listener becomes the vessel into which beauty and meaning are whispered into life. So much about which to write… so many topics… so much beauty… and yet this episode  we turn our bloodshot eyes towards the songs that salute the innocuous pleasures of getting high on some decent weed. That’s right folks, if you were looking for some small morsel of intellectual nourishment, oops! This month we celebrate the songs that extol the wonders of weed.

We are calling these special shows, Des Moines Deep Dives. On our maiden voyage, we sat and spoke with Anne and Dave Ducharme-Jones about their backstory and their music. Along the way, we gained more insight into some of the work they have done behind-the-scenes to help Des Moines become such a vibrant live music scene.  Grab a beverage and sit back.
