Castleoak Connects with Hannah Bruce
2021/02/24
Hello and welcome to the new series of Castleoak Connects. In this episode, Castleoak COO Kate Still, our new host for series 2, is joined by Hannah Bruce, CEO and Founder of Dissideo, a start-up which is making waves with its holistic approach to creating later living and care environments. Kate and Hannah discuss their shared entrepreneurial spirit, intergenerational isolation and how we're all, ultimately, looking for a sense of community.
About Hannah
Hannah has travelled across the globe to better understand how care is approached in varying contexts and cultures, and upon returning home instigated a year-long change management programme within a family-run care home. Following the success of the programme, which included innovative well-being practices, self-management among the teams and the introduction of new technologies, it became clear that serious challenges affect the sector when it comes to taking innovation forward and providing high-quality services. This includes the layout and infrastructure of many care homes, the common complaint of isolation from the local community, and the purposelessness many report who live in care.
Hannah and her business partner Louise have set out to build the future of care homes which are uncompromising on both design and the standard of care delivered. Their vision is to build the future of care environments, combining community integration, shared household living and technology.
