This pride month, we're exploring one of the most controversial laws ever introduced in the UK. Section 28 of the Local Government Act, introduced in 1988, prohibited the promotion of homosexuality by local authorities across the country, resulting in the erasure of queer culture and the demonisation of the LGBTQ+ community.
