Not taking pitches off! Turning double plays Watch a video of yourself so you can actually see what you look like. All players instill information differently. Mental focus...prepared to be in the moment Be where your feet are Baseball instincts Understanding where to go in any given situations Preparation between each pitch “The mind is the engine” Pre pitch...all players on the field are on time and ready to go. The more the players the less you will get the ball. Have to have the belief the ball is going to come to be. Every single play matters! “Process over results” I will beat you with my make up Build the foundation..build your makeup Infielders number one goal is not to take pitches off Where are we going to go with the ball before the pitch? Process the outs, runs, hitter, runner. Routine, process Negative thoughts create tension. Wanting the ball! The best in the game make errors...the young athlete are allowed to make mistakes Compete with confidence Coaches create tension on their players. Inconsistency in their posture on each pitch Posture, launch Lack of intent, Sense of urgency Lack of repeatability When the mind is clear and focused The heart cannot slow down if it is not clear. Study the game How to separate yourself from every other athlete? Being in the right place at the right time How was the athlete's attitude before each pitch? Did he get out the previous inning? “Be in the zone” The higher level of talent can get away with not being on time. Teaching concepts repeatability Be patient in player development Holding yourself accountable Teach the process and understand the why Situational awareness Anticipate the ball Reflection, assessment Understanding a checklist How to get players to “buy in” to not taking pitches off Film your players for an entire game and see if your players take pitches off. Access videos and have your players watch. Show the players the good first then break them down and then build them up.
