Not everyone gets a trophy
2021/08/30
Welcome back to the Cup of Courage Podcast. This is episode #22. You loved having Jason on the podcast so we thought we could bring him back this week to talk about youth sports.  Jason has 15 years of coaching experience as well as being a parent to young kids who are starting to get involved in the world of organized sports. We talk about the appropriate age to start sports, select sports, school sports, burnout and playing multiple sports. We talk about these from a coaches perspective and a parent perspective. Last, we tackle your questions. This episode was awesome and I think anyone who listens will get a lot of insight out of this one. *This episode is sponsored by Deric Blaha of Country Financial. Knowing your worth
2021/08/23
Welcome back to the Cup of Courage podcast. This is lucky #21. I have always loved number 21. It was my basketball number in middle school and high school and I always felt that it gave me luck. August 26th is Women's Equality Day so today's episode is all about knowing your worth. Understanding our worth and knowing our worth is a hard topic. On this episode, I break it down into four categories to make it easier to digest. I discuss what knowing your worth means while offering some tips and tricks to help you get there. You are worthy. Opposites Attract
2021/08/16
Welcome back to the Cup of Courage Podcast. This episode is very near and dear to my heart because my husband Jason is on the podcast this week. We are total opposites but you know what happens when opposites meet; they attract. In this episode we discuss what it's like being married to each other.  Next, we talk about our strengths and weaknesses as a couple and last we get to the hot seat called "Ask Jason anything." We had an overwhelming response from listeners that wanted to know it all. This episode is filled with silent tears, lots of laughter and profound insight into how we have navigated ten years of marriage and two kids.  *This episode is sponsored by Deric Blaha of Country Financial. You know what's best
2021/08/08
Welcome back!! On this week's episode of the Cup of Courage Podcast, I am talking about breastfeeding and bottle feeding. Last week was national breastfeeding week and I thought it would be fun to discuss the two experiences I had with it. I had two opposite experiences and I am better for having both.  One was a struggle and one was a triumph. One was pain and one was joy. By having both, I saw two sides to the story. I can sympathize and understand with women who struggle with this "natural" experience. I can also celebrate and cheer on the mamas who breastfeed so well. Experience combined with perspective is a powerful insight. Be sure to give this one a listen.  --- Subscribe to this podcast so you don't miss a single episode.  *Shop Primally Pure: https://primallypure.com/?rfsn=5860926.659fc8 *Shop Everyday Courage: http://www.pagepublishing.com/books/?book=everyday-courage *Sign-up for Emails: https://view.flodesk.com/pages/5d646f9af3dc8e00108e3a20 ----- Thanks for listening!!  --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/jennifer-hendrix/support
Let's hear it for the girls
2021/08/02
Welcome to this week's episode of the Cup of Courage podcast. Today is national girlfriends day so what better way to celebrate this event than with one of my awesome gal pals. Let's hear it for the girls! Let me tell ya bout my best friend. My dear friend, Ashlyn, snuggled in close at the studio (aka: my closet). We cheers to our friendship and talk about how we first met, the pressure of spouses to like one another, maintaining our friendship and girlfriend therapy (aka: vent sessions). We talk about the importance of keeping your golden friends (the ones who have known you your whole life) but also making silver friends (the ones you meet after school). Find your friendship squad and love them hard.  -- Subscribe to this podcast so you don't miss a single episode. *Shop Primally Pure: https://primallypure.com/?rfsn=5860926.659fc8 *Shop Everyday Courage: http://www.pagepublishing.com/books/?book=everyday-courage *Sign-up for Emails: https://view.flodesk.com/pages/5d646f9af3dc8e00108e3a20 Thanks for listening! --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/jennifer-hendrix/support
Can I get a connection?
2021/07/26
Welcome back to episode 17 of the Cup of Courage podcast! How are we already on episode 17? Time flies when you're having fun. This week is a little different because it's unscripted, it's real and it's about seeking connections. As humans, we have this desire to belong and feel connected with those around us. Whether that connection is with our spouse, our kids, work, hobbies, friends and organizations. We long to feel connected to those around us. This week, I talk about how unconnected I have felt due to work obligations and some of the tools I am trying to use to keep my connections strong.  Special thanks to our sponsor Primally Pure. Primally Pure offers all natural, non-toxic skin products that protect your face all the way to your armpits. The Messy Life
2021/07/19
Welcome to the Cup of Courage Podcast! Number #16. On this week's episode we cover everything from home life to work life and even business life. I got to interview my co-worker, friend and fellow boss babe Bre. She owns The Messy Dresser Boutique, a full time day job, an adorable daughter and a roommate. We talk about our first impressions of one another, daily work life, boutique, kids and her roommate. We discuss why she took the plunge into becoming a boutique owner and how we juggle these different roles in our lives. We even dive into our favorite business tools that have made our lives so much easier. This episode is for the person who does it all as well as the small business owner.  We wrap it all up with some takeaways for how we manage it all:  *Taking breaks. *Finding your person to bounce ideas off of. *Picking up the slack.  *Delegating the things that mentally drain you. -- Check out The Messy Dresser below. We're in this Together
2021/07/05
Welcome back to episode 14 of the Cup of Courage podcast. Happy 4th of July! Happy Birthday to America. I hope your weekend is filled with sunshine, pools, tank tops, lakes, good food and great company. This episode is a little different than what you normally hear here. This week, I encourage you to spend some time moving your body while listening to some motivation. This movement can be anything from walking and running to yoga and hiking. Whatever you choose to do, make sure to get 30 minutes of movement.  With the long weekend, some people have off Monday and I thought this would be a great week to post this episode. Think of me as your exercise buddy this week. I went on a three mile run and recorded myself talking to you the entire run. Pardon the times I am out of breath. We are in this together & you can totally do it.  Subscribe to this podcast so you don't miss a single episode. Episodes are posted Sunday nights at 9PM CST.
