Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is a complex developmental condition that involves  persistent challenges  in social interaction, speech and nonverbal communication, and restricted/repetitive behaviors. The effects of  ASD and the severity of symptoms are different in each person. In this episode, I chat with Deniece Campos Landry about what ASD is and how she and her family have found ways around the challenges that come with ASD. Deniece is a mother of an individual with ASD and the founder of Global Panda, a job search portal database  for Disabled college graduates that are entering the workforce. In this mini episode, Hillary nerds out about the anatomy of the myelin sheath. The myelin sheath is the protective, fatty coating surrounding your nerve fibers along the axon, similar to the protective covering around electrical wires. It allows electrical impulses between nerve cells to travel back and forth very, very quickly. Most tattoos tell a sentimental story. This episode tells the story of what happens in our body when we get a tattoo.
