Live a Life That Feels Free
2026/10/27
What does it mean to feel truly free, and how can we make more room for the things that bring us to life? In this episode of the Wisdom Work podcast, Christy and Christa explore the connection between creativity and personal freedom. Christa shares how a year-long in-depth psychology course rooted in the teachings of Carl Jung has introduced her to a daily 10 minute creative practice. It’s made her use different mediums as a way to quiet her inner critic and make room for play. She also talks about the freedom she finds in creative expression and learning to surf, where being in the ocean calls for her full mind and body to be present, and leaves her feeling renewed. Christy reflects on how creativity has shown up throughout her life as a hairstylist, documentary filmmaker, storyteller, and writer. She has found ways to reduce stress and shift her emotional energy through simple practices like adult coloring, movement, and walking.  Together, they explore what it looks like to create space by letting go of what no longer serves us, trusting that pauses and setbacks can be part of growth, and leaning on gratitude and community for support. They also invite you to reflect on a few questions: Where do you feel freest? What in your life doesn't feel free? What does your soul want next?  What would it look like to commit, each day, to the things that light you up? Gossip, Gray Areas and The Courage to Be Clear
2026/09/23
From “Maybe” to Meaningful Yes: Boundaries, Gossip, and Living Your One Precious Life In this episode of the Wisdom Work podcast, Christy and Christa return to Wisdom Work as fall routines begin, talking about something surprisingly simple: how often we say “maybe” when someone invites us somewhere. Inspired by a post from therapist Amanda White, they explore how staying in “maybe” can drain our relationships, hold us back from personal growth, and even become a way of staying in control.  They talk about finding the courage to give clearer yeses and nos, making room for “full-body yes” commitments, and being more intentional with the time we have. From there, the conversation turns to gossip and small talk, and what they might really be telling us about connection and loneliness. Instead of defaulting to low level connection, they explore what it looks like to have more intentional and vulnerable conversations, including using “rose, bud, thorn” prompts to share what’s blooming, forming, and challenging in our lives.  They also talk about self awareness, preparing for social settings, paying attention to those inner nudges, and coming back to Mary Oliver’s question: “What will you do with your one precious life?” [email protected] Christy McCaffrey’s LinkedIn Christy McCaffery’s Substack Be The Good Media and Podcast Christa Mantey’s Instagram Christa Mantey’s LinkedIn Christa Mantey’s Website Timestamps: :00 - Welcome to Wisdom Work :50 - Fall Reset and Routines 1:57 - The Maybe Era Problem 4:35 - Hard Yes or Hard No 7:07 - Soul Nudges and Trust 9:35 - One Precious Life 14:46 - From Shoulds to Gossip 15:24 - Rose Bud Thorn Check In 16:53 - Why Gossip Drains Us 19:26 - Steering Deeper Conversations 21:33 - Small Talk Fatigue 22:33 - Beyond Gossip Shame 23:22 - Rose Bud Thorn Framework 24:23 - Talk Well Behind Backs 25:30 - One Sided Conversations 27:30 - Screens Work Home Shift 30:48 - WAIT And Oversharing 32:09 - Self Awareness Over Drama 33:54 - Wisdom Work Is Cyclical 38:10 - Gratitude And Life Review 39:08 - Closing Thanks And Outro
Waking Up From the Dream: Stories, Balance, and Boundaries
2026/08/04
What if the stories you tell yourself aren't the whole truth? In this episode of the Wisdom Work podcast, Christy and Christa explore the Buddhist and yogic idea of a "dream within a dream." Which is the way we often mistake our thoughts, emotions, and old conditioning for who we really are. They unpack how the narratives we repeat can quietly shape our lives and why learning to question them can open the door to more freedom and self awareness. Along the way, they talk about the power of language, the importance of asking yourself, "Why am I talking right now?" and how that simple pause can reveal whether you're seeking connection, validation, or simply needing to vent. They also discuss the difference between owning your experiences versus projecting them onto others, and why the stories we choose matter. The conversation also dives into creating a more balanced life. Instead of placing all your happiness in one area, whether that's work, family, or a hobby, they encourage nurturing every part of your well being. From prioritizing self care to setting kind but firm boundaries, Christy and Christa share practical reminders about saying no without guilt, accepting that not everyone will understand your choices, and extending compassion to people as they adjust to those changes. The episode wraps up with a simple "Wheel of Life" exercise to help you reflect on different areas of your life, identify what's thriving, what needs attention, and how to intentionally create more balance and joy. Prioritizing Presence: Creating Space to Hear Inner Wisdom
2026/07/07
Life gets noisy. Between constant notifications, busy schedules, and the pressure to always be doing something, it's easy to lose touch with ourselves. In this episode of the Wisdom Work podcast, Christy and Christa explore what it really means to be present after pulling an inspiration card that sets the tone for the conversation. They reflect on how everyday distractions can take us away from our relationships, our well being, and our inner wisdom. Along the way, they share simple practices that have helped them slow down to create healthier boundaries with technology, using breathwork, Yoga Nidra, and mindfulness to regulate the nervous system. They also talk about letting go of old patterns, embracing rest alongside productivity, and honoring the natural rhythms of life instead of constantly pushing through. If you've been feeling overwhelmed or stretched too thin, this episode is a gentle reminder that sometimes the clarity you're looking for doesn't come from doing more, it comes from being fully present. Owning Your Power
2026/06/02
In this episode of the Wisdom Work podcast, Christy and Christa introduce Emma Grede’s book “Start With Yourself.” They discuss Grede’s interviews and how her perspective is a “permission slip” to step into authentic power. This episode shares how a woman in business can be unapologetically ambitious and talk more openly about money, which women often avoid more than men.  They cover the historical roots of women’s relationship to power and money. Another hot topic is the importance of balancing practical money habits with energetic/nervous system work. These are all avenues to redefining success through feminine authenticity rather than adopting masculine business norms. The conversation also addresses backlash Grede received about work-life balance and time with kids. Christy and Christa share their feelings about emphasizing quality over quantity, resisting comparison and “landscaper parenting.” As parents, they share how modeling resilience through real-life hardships and allowing discomfort or negative emotions can shape children in their formative years. Staying in the Vision
2026/05/05
In this episode of the Wisdom Work podcast, Christy and Christa discuss “staying in the vision” by continuing to dream, reassessing desires, and prioritizing and protecting goals from outside influence.  They describe leaving behind habits like dimming your light, worrying what others think, and seeking validation, noting that sharing big dreams with the wrong people can deflate momentum due to others’ scarcity mindset.  They emphasize choosing a small circle of trusted “dream holders,” being mindful as both a sharer and a listener, and asking what support is wanted or needed. This conversation connects vision holding to manifestation as a daily practice, prayer, and removing blocks to receiving, including nervous-system readiness, conditioning, and trusting divine timing.  They highlight knowing the “what” and “why,” releasing the “how” and “when,” slowing down, noticing signs, and reframing feeling stuck as a transition into a new paradigm. Plugging Into the New Grid
2026/04/07
In this episode of the Wisdom Work podcast, Christy and Christa go deeper into their recent conversation of “being the light” during heavy, divisive times… especially when information is amplified by social media and news. They challenge listeners to regularly turn inward and ask how they can cultivate inner light while navigating difficult situations, relationships, and conversations. Christy shares a visual metaphor of unplugging from an old, corroded “electrical grid” of outdated patterns and plugging into a new, clean light grid that feels scary and lonely at first, but is full of possibility.  They discuss nervous system regulation, processing emotions rather than bypassing, and building the muscle of moving through heaviness faster. They suggest practices like nature walks, journaling, and intentional self-renewal. The episode emphasizes faith versus control, releasing a tight grip, setting protective boundaries, and seeing discomfort and pain as signs of growth and opening. You Are the Light of the World
2026/03/03
In this episode of the Wisdom Work podcast, Christy and Christa open a free-flowing conversation about navigating an intense, full season of life with kids’ activities and entrepreneurial work.  They discuss how structured movement and workouts support mental health, reveal greater personal capacity, and prompt a recheck of priorities toward rest, relationships, and “human being” time. Both reflect on using self-care tools, baths, meditation, quiet, journaling, and boundaries to counter stress without becoming overwhelmed. They also discuss the value of professional support rather than relying on external validation.  Adopting a “bubble of light” visualization practice helps to protect peace, set boundaries, and manage people-pleasing with mantras like “I don’t owe anybody anything” and “I am enough.” The conversation centers on the repeated inner message “You are the light of the world,” encouraging listeners to embody their truth, reduce distraction from technology, and practice the mantra daily. Manifesting: Rooting into your desires
2026/01/06
In this episode of The Wisdom Work podcast, Christy and Christa dive deep into the powerful topic of manifestation. They shared the importance of aligning with what you truly want, the role of self-worth, and the significance of clearing out what no longer serves you.  Rather than focusing on rigid goal setting, resolutions, or pressure-driven productivity, this conversation invites listeners to explore manifestation as a lived practice rooted in self-awareness, emotional honesty, self-worth, and alignment. Christy and Christa weave in personal stories, client experiences, and wisdom teachings to offer a grounded, compassionate approach to calling in what you truly want while learning how to let go of what no longer serves you. This is a conversation about doing the inner work, learning to say no without guilt, and recognizing expanders in your life. Learn how to allow play, joy, and ease to coexist with your personal growth. Christy and Christa reflect on how manifestation often requires clearing emotional blocks, challenging subconscious beliefs, and learning to trust yourself not forcing outcomes or bypassing discomfort. At its core, this episode is a reminder that this work isn’t magic or wishful thinking. It’s the ongoing practice of aligning your energy, actions, and beliefs with the life you want to live while staying deeply present and grateful for the life you already have.
