Living with God’s Word - 1 Thessalonians 2:9-16
2026/10/31
They accused him of being in the ministry just for the money. Meanwhile Paul continued to support himself as a tentmaker after he began his ministry so he wouldn’t be a financial burden on young, struggling Christian congregations.
The Judaizers also accused him of spreading lies and untruths. They were way off target. Paul didn’t speak the gospel with a soft tone to sound nice to listening ears nor did he use flattery on his hearers. As we sometimes say: Paul simply told it as it was.

Bearers of God’s word - 1 Thessalonians 2:1-9
2026/10/25
Think about it. Life can be tough. There are challenges to our health, with our jobs, our homes. The apostle Paul knew that life can be challenging. He was no religious guru holed up in a cave away from the problems of the world. He was out there facing opposition every day of his adult life.
Like Paul, we are called to be strong and courageous, to not be afraid, which means having the courage to face our own weaknesses. Only by courageously entrusting ourselves to the God who never forsakes us can we see Him leading us through challenges and obstacles.

The Faith of a Believer - 1 Thessalonians 1:1-10
2026/10/17
I'm asking three questions: First, I ask how does faith begin in a believer? Second, I ask how do we become God’s People? And third, I ask how does receiving impact your actions? For some faith begins when they hear how someone else received the Word of the Lord. Becoming God’s people means entering into God’s covenant through faith, receiving a new identity as His chosen people. When you receive food what do you do? You eat. When you receive the Word of God what do you do? Do you share it with others, or do you keep it only to yourself?

A Cheerful Giver - 2 Corinthians 9:6-15
2026/10/11
The expression of gratitude is not merely a personal sentiment, but a communal and covenantal response to God's faithfulness and provision. Why did the Israelites stop being thankful after receiving miraculous signs and provisions, why is it, that instead they frequently grumbled and complained?
Some scholars note that 16 of His 38 parables directly dealt with money, highlighting its role in teaching about stewardship, generosity, and spiritual focus. Have you ever commented: The church is always asking for money? Folks, if you do not want somebody asking you to give, then it is not wise to be a part of a Christian community. Friends, there is an intimate relationship between who we are and what we do with our resources.

The promise of God's forgiveness - Philippians 3:4 -14
2026/10/04
The bible is our safeguard both morally and theologically… It alerts us to corrections we need to make in our hearts, our thoughts, our attitudes, and our actions. Scripture encourages believers to trust in God's word and character; the Bible provides a stable foundation for a believer’s faith and confidence. Paul states that he to gave up everything, family, friendship, and freedom, in order to know Christ and his resurrection power. He is living in God’s forgiveness.

Have the attitude of Christ - Philippians 2:1-13
2026/09/25
Paul stressed spiritual unity, asking the Philippians to love one another and to be one in spirit and purpose. When we do for others, when we demonstrate Christ’ s example of putting others first, then we experience unity.
Paul is encouraging the church at Philippi to live in harmony and humility following the example of Christ. He said, “Be like Jesus”. Humble yourselves as he humbled himself, be a servant as he became a servant. “Have the same love. Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Paul isn’t just writing to the Philippians, he’s writing to us. His message is for us too.

The Struggles and Privileges of living for Christ - Philippians 1:21-30
2026/09/19
Paul was writing from inside a prison, yet joy seems to be a dominant theme in this letter to the Philippians. He felt compelled to write these letters to teach and encourage the believers in the various churches he had planted since he couldn’t be present with them in person.
Paul’s prayer was that when he stood trial, he would speak courageously for Christ, he would live for Christ and not be timid or ashamed. Whether he lived or died, he wanted to exalt Christ.
Paul had a goal for his life and he had hope. Thinking about this, 3 thoughts come to mind:
1) What does living for Christ mean?
2) What does it mean when I’m torn between two desires?
3) Is it OK to have pride in Christ Jesus because of what he is done for us?

Does love fulfill God’s Requirements? - Romans 13:8-14
2026/09/04
Love fulfills God's requirements, as all commandments are summed up in one commandment. It is not a one-time act but a continuous duty that shapes the way believers live and relate to others.
This Commandment of Love is a central tenant in Christian theology, emphasizing the importance of love as the foundation of moral and spiritual life.
Consider, love your neighbor as you love yourself. Let’s just stop and think about this. How can you love your neighbor as yourself, if you don’t love yourself?

Are we manifesting God’s love - Romans 12:9-21
2026/08/29
God’s presence in our lives goes beyond narrow-mindedness, parochialism, and superiority to embrace God’s good heart and his people in service and companionship. Our vocations, our callings, invite us to realize that our gifts shape and are shaped by the communities of which we are part... In living out our gifts, we share in God’s vision of healing the world. There is no superiority or set apartness in the body of Christ; we are one in spirit. Everyone’s gift is intended to be cherished and nurtured. Each person’s gifts are important, even if they are not noticed.

Learning God’s will – Romans 12:1-8
2026/08/22
We don’t need to be historical characters… we need to be just as we are. The Bible teaches that God values the heart and obedience over mere ritual. Acceptable worship involves a sincere heart, a life of obedience, and a commitment to justice and mercy. The Bible warns against conforming to the customs of this world, the Bible calls for transformation of mind and heart, and urges believers to live in distinct, godly ways that honor God and resist worldly influences. God’s will isn’t a secret, but being in tune with God’s will is not complicated. All we have to do is know how to recognize his voice when he is speaking to us and then have the courage to do what he tells us. Let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Only when the Holy Spirit renews, re-educates, and redirects our mind are we truly transformed.

Gods Mercy is on everyone - Romans 11:1-4, 26-32
2026/08/14
Jesus gathered people so that they might receive the truth. What He says will overturn human traditions that had eclipsed God’s intent.
Jesus gives two commands: Listen and understand. Listen: give undivided attention. Understand: grasp the meaning, let it sink in, until it shapes conviction. He invites ordinary people to receive divine revelation; He speaks with sovereign authority.
In God’s Scripture, His Mercy and His Blessings are closely connected, but distinct aspects of His character. And this is the foundation of God’s blessing. Without His mercy, without Jesus we would have remained forever under judgment.

God requires Obedience - Romans 10:5-15
2026/08/07
Israelites rather than living by faith in God, established customs and traditions (in addition to God’s law) to try to make themselves acceptable in God’s sight; ignoring that this is not what God wants. Human effort, no matter how sincere can never substitute for the righteousness God offers us by faith.

Has God failed us? - Romans 9:1-6
2026/08/01
Events in the Old Testament underscore the profound relationship between God and His people, emphasizing His presence, majesty, and holiness. But you know what happened; as time passes the new generations forgot and as often happens even today, they want to do things their own way, even though they have God’s commands and laws they became unfaithful and greedy. They began to worship other gods, and doing evil in the eyes of the Lord. God didn’t fail us, we failed God.

God’s profound Love - Romans 8:26-39
2026/07/25
The book of Romans is more than a theological explanation of God’s redeeming grace; it is a letter of comfort and confidence addressed to us. We learn there that God overcomes the powers of sin and death through God’s self-giving love.
38 And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love. 39 No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Let us always remember, that nothing can ever separate us from the love of God and while we can be confident of our salvation, we still look ahead with hope and trust toward that complete change of body and personality that lies beyond this life, when we will be like Christ.
