Intro / "About Me"
2021/10/09
Hi everyone! Welcome to the podcast! This episode is here to provide you with a little background on me, your host, and what my experience is in the social services field as well as what my educational goals are. It also provides you a little more detail on what you can expect from the podcast. About me: My name is Camille Tiberghien and I am a current graduate student at San Diego State University obtaining my Master’s degree in Social Work. I got my undergraduate degree in Psychology and have worked and volunteered in the social services and mental health field for more than 6 years now. Much of my experience has been with survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault and I have such a passion for working with this population and, not only the population but the problem as a whole and working with not only survivors but on prevention, community engagement, and interventions for offenders. I am in the two-year direct practice track of my graduate program, slated to graduate in Spring of 2023 and ultimately my goal is to become an LCSW (licensed clinical social worker).  Podcast: The concept of this podcast is to provide a basis of support to aspiring therapists with content ranging from grad school hacks to understanding therapeutic interventions aimed at giving you a solid foundation going into your first day of field. This podcast is for all of you current students pursuing an advanced degree, those thinking of pursuing one, and for anyone who is interested in finally learning what the heck CBT is! From Theory to Therapy will help you take all that information you’re reading in your textbook and transform it into practical skills that will WOW your supervisor and make you feel more confident going into your first therapy session with a client. This podcast is designed to enhance your knowledge no matter how busy you are, how long your commute is, or how tired your eyes are from staring at a book. So stay tuned and join me as I navigate the waters of being a social work student on her way to becoming a therapist!
