In the Fathers Era, we see God call Abram out of the city of Ur. He calls him to leave everything behind and embark on a journey to a land that God will show him. More than that, He calls him with the promises of the Abrahamic Covenant… promises of land, seed, and blessing to the world. In the promised Land, Abram's faith is counted to him as righteousness. Soon we witness the name change from Abram to Abraham, signifying a new identity for this father of many. The flood is over and God promises to never flood the earth again in judgment. Soon, Noah plants a vineyard and becomes drunk. His son comes into Noah’s tent, seeing his father’s nakedness, and Noah curses his son’s son for this breach. Soon, the people of the city of Babylon endeavor to build a tower that reaches the heavens, defying God's command to fill the earth. God intervenes by scattering the people and confusing their language, humbling the proud and rebellious city. Mankind falls in the Garden. Though God gave an order, a mandate, and a prohibition to Adam and Eve, their disobedience leads to awful consequences. A serpent deceived the woman into eating the fruit of the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil, and the man does nothing to lead the woman (or himself) away from the temptation. After their sin, the couple attempts to hide from God, yet God graciously provides for them. While they are cast out of the Garden, they yet have new coverings provided by God, and a promise to hold onto. Someday, a Seed of the woman will come to defeat the serpent.
