Remembering Ben "PAC" Satterley
2026/10/03
Episode 250 of the AEW-some Pod is a heavy one. Johnny Taylor and Gringo Fantastico sit down, no Diana this week, to talk about the AEW Dynamite tribute to Ben "Pac" Satterley, who passed away in Chicago the day after All Out at just 40 years old. This isn't a traditional episode. No awards, no ratings, no ghost. Just two lifelong fans trying to keep it together while they talk about one of the most beautiful memorial shows wrestling has ever done. We get into the haunting Moxley promo filmed before anyone knew, Orange Cassidy weeping in the corner before their match, the Mox and Danielson embrace, Bryan coming out of retirement for one more night, and tribute after tribute from Hangman, Darby, Ospreay, Ricochet, Swerve, and Roddy Strong. We talk about what Pac meant to us, the bar he set for everyone grinding in the indies, the Death Triangle days, the Neville and Sami Zayn classics, and Tony Khan honoring Pac's full contract and flying the whole roster to the memorial. Pac was your favorite wrestler's favorite wrestler. Rest easy, Ben. 'Til we meet again. Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company. Not So Hidden Blade / Gravity is a Dick
2026/09/27
Episode 249 of the AEW-some Pod is up, and Johnny's back from internet exile just in time to recap All Out from Chicago. Diana Prince (The Last Drive-In with Joe Bob Briggs), Johnny Taylor (Stand-Up! Records, Tubi, and Largo on October 11th), and Gringo Fantastico get into a night that was overshadowed by a scary spot where Steven Borden went down hard withan injury. Good news: he's okay, and the AEW medical staff hopped to it fast. On the fun side, Okada flipped off Tommaso Ciampa's little girl and she double-bird'd him right back, the Brawling Birds went from a tea party to a genuinely great street fight, and Swerve and Hangman turned a trios match into an instant classic that Johnny may or may not have oversold to Diana before she'd watched it. Then Will Ospreay burned the Death Riders flag, bit clean through Moxley's forearm, and hit a very much not-hidden blade to keep the belt, while Gringo dropped a smoking hot take about wanting Mox to win. Rate, review, and subscribe, and spare a card for Steve Borden. Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company. Hangman’s Very Tight Jeans
2026/09/25
It's time for episode 248! Johnny’s having technical difficulties, so Gringo and Diana are left without adult supervision. Somehow they still manage to review three hours of Dynamite and Collision from Fishers, Indiana. They were actually in the building for a night of bangers, a completely unhinged crowd, Will Ospreay casually ignoring the laws of physics, and Nick Wayne trying to survive a verbal sparring session with Chris Jericho. But none of that answers the episode’s most pressing question: "Just how tight are Hangman's jeans?" Fortunately, Diana conducted some accidental investigative journalism after ending up on the same plane as Hangman—and folks, those pants are apparently fighting for their lives. Add Diana’s eternal war with Claudio, Gringo continuing his completely one-sided vendetta against Gabe Kidd and his alleged black hole of charisma, some Wheeler Yuta appreciation, and Gringo and Diana repeatedly realizing how much they rely on Johnny, and you’ve got another impeccably professional episode of the AEW-Some Pod. Journalism has never sounded this unhinged Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company. See pcm.adswizz.com for information about our collection and use of personal data for advertising.
Puka Shell Gate
2026/09/20
Episode 247 of the AEW-some Pod is up. Diana Prince (The Last Drive-In with Joe Bob Briggs, Halloween Ends), Johnny Taylor (The Hard Times, Stand-Up! Records, Tubi), and Gringo Fantastico (Troma's Disasterpiece Theater) break down the final All Out build, starting with a Jon Moxley promo we all agreed is Mox's best work, the one where he pre-blames Will Ospreay for whatever he's about to do to him and tells him it's his responsibility. Diana has officially come around on Mox. Gringo's favorite part was watching Mox and Pac physically fight the urge to roll their eyes at Gabe Kidd. Then Jericho and Nick Wayne stole the night, and even the Nick Wayne haters at this table admit the kid gave great face, right up until his puka shells got ripped off and he cared more about that than the loss. Christian's father-obsession has curdled into full Father Tourette's, Ciampa got Okada to accept a title match by calling him a bitch, Jack Perry decided to poke Samoa Joe with a stick, and Akira swore on live TV so Ospreay offered to pay the fine. Rate, review, and subscribe, or we'll tell you it's your responsibility. Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company. Rebel Heart
2026/09/19
Episode 246 of the AEW-some Pod is up. Diana Prince (The Last Drive-In with Joe Bob Briggs, Halloween Ends), Johnny Taylor (The Hard Times, Stand-Up! Records, Tubi), and Gringo Fantastico (Troma's Disasterpiece Theater) open by paying tribute to Andy Williams, The Butcher, who passed away this week, a scary-looking guy who by every account was one of the kindest people in the business, and a hell of a musician too. From there we get into the Rebel Heart episode, a cause-driven night for ALS awareness that had a genuinely moving Rebel moment and one heel-face alignment that made everyone tilt their head. Ospreay beat David Finlay while Jon Moxley sat on commentary praising him like a proud dad, then threw a chair backstage when Ospreay wouldn't play along. Steven Borden won his first TBS match, Andrade defended his belt and got his chest rubbed by strangers again, and Thekla told the best raw-chicken-carcass origin story you'll ever hear. Rate, review, and subscribe. And go do the ice water challenge Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company. Pin the Pants
2026/09/19
Episode 243 of the AEW-some Pod is up. Diana Prince (The Last Drive-In with Joe Bob Briggs, Halloween Ends), Johnny Taylor (The Hard Times, Stand-Up! Records, Tubi), and Gringo Fantastico (Troma's Disasterpiece Theater) head to Arena Mexico for Grand Slam, where MJF came back, took his ring, threw Andrade off a ramp, and insulted an entire country in the span of one promo. Hangman Page wrestled for the first time in 144 days and walked out with trios gold. Ospreay beat Mark Davis in a fork-and-barbed-wire street fight that had the announcers wondering if he ever really left the Death Riders. Fletcher retained and got the stink eye from his own stablemate. Willow pinned Mercedes again. And Tommaso Ciampa took a photograph we are not going to describe on a family podcast. Rate, review, and subscribe, or we'll pin your pants for the three count. Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company. The Ace Wants the Ball
2026/07/31
Episode 242 of the AEW-some Pod is up. Diana Prince (The Last Drive-In with Joe Bob Briggs, Halloween Ends), Johnny Taylor (The Hard Times, Stand-Up! Records, Tubi), and Gringo Fantastico (Troma's Disasterpiece Theater) break down a Detroit Dynamite that bounced back hard, headlined by Kenny Omega and Will Ospreay standing nose to nose and slapping each other silly while building the Wembley main event better than anyone's built anything all year. Ospreay quit the Death Riders for good, Hangman Page came back and started sticking his nose everywhere, and Willow and Mercedes both cut the best promos of their lives to set up All In. Andrade kept his belt and his catchphrase, Maya World keeps collecting wins, and Jon Moxley told the morality police exactly where they can put it. Rate, review, and subscribe, or we'll show and tell you how we feel. Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company. One-Winged Betrayal
2026/07/27
Episode 241 of the AEW-some Pod is up. Diana Prince (The Last Drive-In with Joe Bob Briggs, Halloween Ends), Johnny Taylor (The Hard Times, Stand-Up! Records, Tubi), and Gringo Fantastico (Troma's Disasterpiece Theater) survive a four-hour-plus Redemption from Montreal to talk about the night Will Ospreay finally stood up to the Death Riders, refused to do the unthinkable, saved Kenny Omega, and got thanked with a One-Winged Angel for his trouble. Andrade won a title and lost his pants. Willow made history (but why?). Fletcher and Bandido tried to kill each other for 26 minutes. Jericho became the Painmaker and the crowd chanted "this is murder," which is either a compliment or a cry for help. And we get into whether the main event angle actually makes a lick of sense. Rate, review, and subscribe, or we'll book you tenth on a ten-match card. Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company. See pcm.adswizz.com for information about our collection and use of personal data for advertising.
We Bury It.
2026/07/17
Episode 240 of the AEW-some Pod is up. Diana Prince (The Last Drive-In with Joe Bob Briggs, Halloween Ends), Johnny Taylor (The Hard Times, Stand-Up! Records, Tubi), and Gringo Fantastico (Troma's Disasterpiece Theater) break down a Dynamite from Boston that the three of us landed on a lot harder than usual. Kenny Omega got his celebration, Ospreay got his say, and Kevin Knight got an offer he was never going to take. Andrade is walking around with something that doesn't belong to him and won't say how he got it. Jericho announced who's coming to Redemption, which is exactly what Ciampa asked for and probably shouldn't have. And Jon Moxley said two very quiet sentences that should have everybody nervous. You Can’t Kill Kenny Omega
2026/07/10
Episode 239 of the AEW-some Pod is up. Diana Prince (The Last Drive-In with Joe Bob Briggs, Halloween Ends), Johnny Taylor (The Hard Times, Stand-Up! Records, Tubi), and Gringo Fantastico (Troma’s Fantastico Disasterpiece Theater) head to the beach for Dynamite’s Beach Break, where Kenny Omega beat MJF to become AEW World Champion in a 24-minute war that ended with Omega kicking out of a belt shot at one and MJF making a face like he saw a ghost. Kyle Fletcher beat Takeshita for the International Title and got knighted by Mick Foley, back on TBS for the first time in 32 years. Willow Nightingale returned and won a trip to Revolution. Ciampa beat Jericho with a bucket of sand and then pulled out a power drill, because it was a beach show and why not. Andrade said “how you know” again. And Ospreay ran out to save Omega, which for a guy hanging around the Death Riders is either heroic or the exact opposite. Rate, review, and subscribe, or we’ll paint your dog on Mick Foley’s shoe. F*ck Don. F*ck MJF. F*ck Going to Bed at a Reasonable Hour.
2026/06/29
Episode 238 of the AEW-some Pod is up. Diana Prince (The Last Drive-In with Joe Bob Briggs, Halloween Ends), Johnny Taylor (The Hard Times, Stand-Up! Records, Tubi), and Gringo Fantastico (Troma's Disasterpiece Theater) crawl out of a five-hour Forbidden Door to tell you about it. Will Ospreay won the Owen Hart Cup in a 35-minute blood feud with Swerve, then let the Death Riders hoist him on their shoulders, which is the kind of thing that gets a man an intervention. Andrade finally quit the Callis Family by ripping off his shirt to reveal a message we are legally required to bleep, costing MJF a cage match he paid full retail for. Mark Briscoe bled through a ladder helicopter and booked his title shot for Wednesday. Lio Rush emerged from a hockey bag like a horror movie. Jay White returned out of a blackout. Mercedes won the women's Owen, Omega and Zack Sabre Jr. turned in a masterpiece, and Jon Moxley nearly unmasked Bandido and then asked to shake his hand. Rate, review, and subscribe, or we'll stuff you in a hockey bag and let Okada find you. Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company. Dynamite Smashes the Life Out of Us
2026/06/19
Episode 237 of the AEW-some Pod is up. Diana Prince (The Last Drive-In with Joe Bob Briggs, Halloween Ends), Johnny Taylor (The Hard Times, Stand-Up! Records, Tubi), and Gringo Fantastico (Troma's Disasterpiece Theater) break down a Dynamite from Sugar Land where MJF picked his team for the Forbidden Door cage match and stuck Andrade on it against his will, then made him hold Briscoe for a Diamond Ring shot just to twist the knife. Ospreay and Swerve had a ten-year-deep face-to-face that brought up Hangman, Wembley, and one very fragile neck, though the real headline was Ospreay announcing to a live crowd that he treated his new wife by taking her upstairs and smashing the life out of her, while Tony Schiavone slowly came to terms with his career. Mercedes Mone punched her ticket to the Owen final. Bandido suplexed Marina Shafir and handed Mox and Garcia their first loss as a team. Copeland and Christian promised to housebreak The Dogs. Omega squashed Tony Nese and got a staring contest with a silent Zack Sabre Jr. And Ciampa told Jericho to either get serious or stay home. Rate, review, and subscribe, or we'll take you upstairs and smash the life out of you. Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company. Friends are Stupid
2026/06/12
Episode 236 of the AEW-some Pod is up. Diana Prince (The Last Drive-In with Joe Bob Briggs, Halloween Ends), Johnny Taylor (The Hard Times, Stand-Up! Records, Tubi), and Gringo Fantastico (Troma's Disasterpiece Theater) break down a Dynamite from Cincinnati where Mark Briscoe went over MJF's head, talked to the actual boss, and booked himself into a six-on-six cage match at Forbidden Door for a guaranteed title shot. Chris Jericho introduced the world to Tommy's Mommy and Goblin Face. Darby Allin returned with a skateboard and a line for the ages. Kevin Knight insulted the host city, bragged about his signing bonus, and got skateboarded for his trouble. MJF preached the gospel of money over friends and then had to literally buy five friends out of a briefcase two segments later. Plus Mox retained over Shane Taylor, Maya World pulled the upset of the tournament over Skye Blue, and Swerve and Brody beat each other half to death in a 16-minute semifinal with a Nana situation we are still trying to figure out. Rate, review, and subscribe, or we'll explain "kayfabe" to Don Callis in front of a live microphone. www.aewsomepod.com Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company. No-Countout, No Doctors, No Chill
2026/06/05
Episode 235 of the AEW-some Pod is up. Diana Prince (The Last Drive-In with Joe Bob Briggs, Halloween Ends), Johnny Taylor (The Hard Times, Stand-Up! Records, Tubi), and Gringo Fantastico (Troma's Disasterpiece Theater) break down a Dynamite from Richmond where MJF and Rush had themselves a no-countout main event that involved a slap, a dislocated shoulder, and an assault on a medical professional. Mark Briscoe cut a promo so good MJF had to respond from an ice bath. Kevin Knight is officially a Don Callis Family member and is now waiting in line for a World Title shot, because apparently we're handing those out by mail-order. Mercedes Mone showed up out of nowhere as the Owen Cup wildcard. Thekla declared death on an entire wrestling promotion. And Will Ospreay and Mark Davis ended the night with a 24-minute Owen Cup semi that featured roughly half the roster, one screwdriver, and a Marina Shafir cameo we are still thinking about. Plus Tommaso Ciampa is hunting Jericho, the Young Bucks tried to book a match with The Dogs, and Andrade kissed a stranger on his way to the ring. Rate, review, and subscribe, or we'll book you in a no-countout match against a man who hates doctors. Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company. See pcm.adswizz.com for information about our collection and use of personal data for advertising.
Cheesesteaks and Chickensh*ts
2026/05/29
Episode 234 of the AEW-some Pod is up, and Philly delivered the kind of show that gives three people plenty to argue about. MJF threw himself a party, Mark Briscoe and Rush had some thoughts on it, and now there's a title match on the books for next week that nobody saw coming the way it came. Kyle Fletcher is back from the shelf and apparently in the mood to start naming names inside his own faction. Kevin Knight continues his ongoing campaign to be the most insufferable man in professional wrestling, with a Speedball Mike Bailey assist. Jericho and Ricochet finally put a bow on what has quietly been one of the better programs of the year, and Tommaso Ciampa had a little something to say about it. Brody King and Claudio Castagnoli beat the brakes off each other in the Owen Hart Cup, Mark Davis and Jack Perry had a real one, and Copeland and Christian tried to do a nostalgia bit that went about as well as nostalgia bits tend to go in 2026. Plus Statlander and Shida closed the night with a Philly Street Fight that we are still recovering from. Diana, Johnny, and Gringo get into all of it. Rate, review, and subscribe wherever you get your pods. Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company. See pcm.adswizz.com for information about our collection and use of personal data for advertising.
