100th Episode! Grieving The Loss Of You
2025/10/18
Isaiah and I chit chat through a topic near and dear to us because we talk with patients almost every day about this.  Grieving the loss of who you once were is real. You are different than the you that you were 15 years ago! How do you frame that in your mind? How do you take that information and let is define the person you are now? Come have a listen and think about how these thoughts may be impacting you.  As always, we need you to tell us what you want to hear from us! If you have a topic you want us to cover please click here and send us an email. We will keep you anonymous. Judgement and A Hard Fought Hallelujah
2025/03/15
Hello friends! Thanks for listening to the episode. Below are the lyrics to the song "Hard Fought Hallelujah". Click here for the link to the youTube video of Brandon Lake and Jelly Roll on the Grand Ole Opry stage. Please watch it and listen to the lyrics.   Life is not easy...don't we know that so well these days! But this song is a great reminder of how praising God can be a personal hard fight because life isn't always easy!  Our spiritual health is important and I had a moment today where I spent a little extra time so thankful. Thankful for my relationship with God, but also that I got to see a moment where team members were enamored by this video. Also, that another team member though enough of it to share that with that group. That Brandon Lake and Jelly Roll teamed up on a stage that maybe was a little unexpected to perform a song that happened to be one of my favorites to listen to right now!  Thankful for music and cool video sets, wild hair and sassy tattoos. So glad that we each have a unique fingerprint and bring our own approach to the world. Thankful to have the opportunity to share some feelings about all of it! May each of you feel a blessing today!  In the end my goal was to share a moment that struck me today about a pair of guys singing a song that has such deep meaning. Also, that instead of breezing over the song because of judgement (or maybe just disinterest) that you stop and listen; that if you know the background of that person a little more that you may have a whole different appreciation for them!  But in order to know them more you have to ask some questions and be open to hear or find out the answers. Isaiah and I always want to leave you with a practical thing to try. Watching this video and reflecting on the lyrics is what we would love you to do and just see if it's moving to you. It's ok if is not.  Thank you for tuning in to this episode. Please subscribe, like and share any episodes you think that would be good for a person you know.  If you would like to submit a question, topic or even a testimonial about the podcast please click here.  We appreciate you!
Pain Education Intro (Session 1 from the Reducing Sympathetics in person Class)
2025/03/12
Hello! Amy here.  Please forgive the format of this episode. We sort of last minute decided to put it on as a podcast episode. It's actually the audio recording of the first session of our in person "Reducing Sympathetics" class. I couldn't get our normal intro to trim into the audio of the class so it jumps right in to the class. #nosocialmediateam We put the podcasts up on our off time and it's just Isaiah and I so thank you for your grace with some of the clunkiness. I did edit a couple minutes from the very start of class as people were coming in.    If you would like to learn the content of the other 5 sessions you would need to come to an in person class or wait for our online class to be released. The online format release date is TBD as of the release of this episode.  As always, Isaiah and I love when you let us know questions or topics you would like us to cover. If you click here it will let you submit a question via email which is the easiest way for us to get your thoughts and be able to think on how we want to put them into an episode.  Please like, subscribe and share these episodes with friends to help us grow. We appreciate you!
Preparing for Death to Live Better Now
2025/03/02
Amy and Isaiah take a wonderful opportunity to discuss how to prepare for death, not the act of death itself. The goal is to give you thoughts to help you make preparations in the event of your death. You may need to have a conversation like this with your parents.  You may have your own kids.  Whatever your situation is, it is such a good idea to have plans made and your plans laid out. Open discussions about this are so important so that everyone feels they can ask questions and know what to do upon your death.  Our prayer is for you to have a long healthy life.  Estate planning, directives, funeral plans and other considerations are all part of the conversation in this episode.   If you would like a little list of things to consider to prepare you and your family for what to do upon your death click here. As always, Isaiah and Amy would love to hear from you about topics you would like us to cover or questions you would like us to discuss. Please click here to submit your question or comment. Thank you for listening and don't forget to like, subscribe and/or share the Dear Misfits podcast.
7 Seconds to Connect
2025/02/22
Isaiah and Amy talk about how to make a plan on how to react to situations that are typically ones that drive you nuts or set you off.  Before you react heavily to something that maybe doesn't deserve it, take 7 seconds and settle to help you react in a more constructive way.  But the idea is that these 7 seconds could be the difference from creating a divide or to help connect.     If you have any topics you would like us to cover or questions you want us to answer please click here to let us know what they are. We love hearing from you. Please like and subscribe to the podcast. This helps Isaiah and Amy grow and spread their reach!
