The Everything Belt
2026/09/29
South Carolina may be known as the Bible Belt, but on our college campuses, it's the everything belt.
In this episode, Lee Clamp sits down with Chad Stillwell, who leads Baptist Collegiate Ministries (BCM) efforts across South Carolina, and Adam Venters, campus director of Carolina BCM at the University of South Carolina, to talk about what God is doing among college students across our state.
You'll hear about the big announcement of a new 16,500-square-foot Carolina BCM facility, complete with a rooftop gathering space, made possible through a property exchange with the University of South Carolina. You'll also hear how Carolina BCM has grown from 20–30 students to more than 500, with nearly 200 professions of faith last year. And you'll hear stories of students from Mormon, Jehovah's Witness, and Wiccan backgrounds rubbing shoulders with the Gospel.
Most importantly, this conversation is about the local church. Whether your church runs 100 or 1,000, there's a place for you to engage the students in your community.
With about 60 college campuses and more than a quarter million students in South Carolina, the harvest is right next door.

Same Playbook, New Hope
2026/09/22
In 1821, nine messengers gathered around one table and started the South Carolina Baptist Convention. Twenty-four years later, 157 new churches had been planted across the state, fueled by a simple, shared conviction: missions and education.
But the story doesn't stop there. In the wake of the Civil War, Black Baptists, long excluded from full membership in the very churches they helped build, took that same playbook and formed their own convention in 1877, planting churches and pursuing the Gospel.
In this episode of Together with SCBaptist, pastor of Church At The Mill Lake Cooley Dylan Baxter sits down with Tony Wolfe and Cliff Marshall to trace this remarkable, and at times painful, history of cooperation, division, and redemption. They don't shy away from the hard parts: slavery, exclusion, and the racial divide that shaped South Carolina Baptist life for generations. But they also point to something bigger than any one era or any one leader: the grace of God that has sustained this movement from nine people at a table to 600,000 South Carolina Baptists today.
This is a conversation about honest history, hard lessons, and the hope that comes from the Gospel to see every life saturated and transformed by the hope of the Gospel!

The Deacon They Exiled
2026/09/17
What does a deacon banished from Boston by the Puritans have to do with the first Baptist church ever planted in the South? In this episode, we trace that unlikely thread all the way to South Carolina — and uncover why two rival Baptist movements, one from the coast and one from the backcountry, spent decades at odds with each other before quietly merging in one small town that's now our state capital. Along the way, we ask a bigger question: what does it take to turn a handful of independent, do-it-yourself churches into a movement that's still multiplying 250 years later?

Welcome to Together with SCBaptist
2026/09/17
In our very first episode, we're kicking things off simple — no guests, no deep dive, just an introduction to what this podcast is all about.
"Together with SCBaptist" is a new show bringing you news and stories from South Carolina Baptists, for South Carolina Baptists. In this short welcome episode, we'll share what you can expect from the season ahead: a look back at the origin story of the South Carolina Baptist Convention — the churches, leaders, and Gospel conviction that built it — and a look forward at what God is doing next through SendSC, a new partnership between SCBaptist and the North American Mission Board's Send Network.
But that's not all — we're talking all things related to advancing the Gospel in South Carolina and beyond, together.

Introducing SendSC | Tony Wolfe & Cliff Marshall
2026/05/12
South Carolina is the fastest growing state in the nation, and nearly 80 percent of its population has no meaningful connection to a Bible-teaching church. In response, the South Carolina Baptist Convention has launched SendSC, a unified effort between SCBaptist and the North American Mission Board's Send Network to plant healthy, multiplying churches in every corner of South Carolina.
Conventions don't plant churches — churches do. And through Send Network, SCBaptist church planters gain access to training, ongoing planter care, and proven tools and systems designed to help new churches thrive.
Since 1900, SCBaptists have fueled state missions through the Janie Chapman Offering, stewarded by the South Carolina Woman's Missionary Union. Through SendSC, those dollars are matched by grants from Send Network. That means your generosity goes twice as far.
Whether God is calling you to plant a church or your church is ready to send out a church plant, our SendSC team is here to guide you through the next steps. Visit sendsc.org for more information and to get a church planting conversation started today.
