The men's basketball program led by coach Brian Dutcher is currently battling for anther post-season bid while the women enjoy a thus-far perfect season in Mountain West play. The AztecFAST football project under coach Sean Lewis became bowl-eligible in 2025, setting the state for SDSU's transition to the Pac-12 in 2026. Aztecs All In: Episode 129 Pac-12 Season Opener

The 1-3 Aztecs football squad starts the week out as underdogs in their first game of the new Pac-12 era for the program against the 2-2 Texas State Bobcats. Head coach Sean Lewis, players Jacob Bostick and Jalen Thomeson share thoughts on the opponent and their team at this stage of the season. The mens golf program appears to have yet another budding standard-setter in Brayden Forte while a former Aztec gets to hoist the President's Trophy.

A rout in the Glass Bowl closes non-conference play. Toledo 41, San Diego State 16. The Aztecs fall to 1–3 with a home Pac-12 opener against Texas State looking … uh, less than stellar. Host Steve Perez on a sunny 9 a.m. Pacific kick that anyone with CBS Sports Network could diagnose without a headset: We close with a minute for Joe Heinz — Chula Vista, Aztec offensive line in the Faulk years, CIF San Diego Section commissioner — after high schools stood quiet for him this week.

The 1-2 Aztecs head to Toledo to take on the 2-1 Rockets. Head coach Sean Lewis swears his team is sticking to its process internally, letting the results take care of themselves and becoming better through the adversity. Linebacker Tano Letuli on how team leaders expect the rest of the players to respond. Meantime, two former Aztecs make headlines in the world of professional golf and current Aztecs perform well in women’s golf, women’s volleyball and women’s soccer. We preview upcoming non conference schedules for women’s basketball, the fall schedule for softball and the successful women’s swimming program.
Aztecs All In: Postgame Special Home winning streak ended by JMU

A seven game win streak at Snapdragon Stadium is snapped by the Dukes of James Madison University 26-13, the Aztecs fall to 1-2 on the year, while JMU is 3-0. Host Steve Perez details how the Aztecs' defeat comes despite a career night by Javion “Chop” Kinnard in relief of the injured Lucky Sutton. Kinnard posts 251 all-purpose yards on 33 carries for 181 net yards and a touchdown to go with four receptions for 70 yards. Kinnard talks about his performance in the context of the loss, while leading tackler Sione “Riz” Hala talks about the need for making faster starts. Coach Sean Lewis joins with initial thoughts about the overall play, the quarterbacking and a near-miracle play by JMU quarterback Camden Coleman who picked a bobbled snap up off the Snapdragon turf and hurled it downfield for a big 4th down completion that led to a TD, helping put the game out of reach in the final stanza. Meantime, a true freshman posts a big win for the Aztecs at the Vuori Invitational golf tournament in Rancho Sante Fe in just his second collegiate start.
Aztecs All In: Episode 127 JMU comes to town

Coach Sean Lewis, tight end Jackson Ford and safety Josh Hunter take a brief look back at the UCLA game. Host Steve Perez sets ‘em up as they spend even more time looking ahead at this week’s home contest against James Madison University, a 7 p.m. kickoff at Snapdragon Stadium which will be carried live on national TV by the CW. The Dukes are 2-0 and coming off against a win against FCS opponent Wagner College where they scored 87 points . Coach Lew also waxes philosophical about how to regroup from a loss, any loss, and the answer to La’Roi Glover’s eternal question: How many times do you have to get hit in the face by a skunk to know it stinks? Also, JMU coach Billy Napier comments on what the team gained from the experience and how they plan to handle the program’s first cross-country trip to California. Basketball coach Brian Dutcher also stops by to talk about the upcoming non conference schedule.
Aztecs All In: Postgame Special Aztecs succumb to Bruins, 28-10

The Aztecs football team drops a 28-10 decision against the UCLA Bruins 21-10, unable to build on its opening week win against Portland State. The defense holds the Bruins scoreless in the first half. However, the Bruins returned the favor. Coach Sean Lewis offers an instant analysis courtesy of San Diego Sports AM 760 and his team now looks forward to the chance to move past .500 on Saturday at home against the James Madison University Dukes of the American Conference.
Aztecs All In: Episode 126 A trip to Pasadena

It’s Week 2 of the college football season and the 1-0 Aztecs travel to Pasadena to face the 1-0 UCLA Bruins. While the home team is a P4 unit, San Diego State head coach Sean Lewis is saying “put the ball on the ground” and "let’s play." He adds, it’s not like his team is eager to tour the set where they filmed “Gossip Girl.” (Yeah, he said that). His players who met the media earlier this week, Gavriel Lightfoot and Jaylon Hawkins take their cues from the coach and discuss going about the business of preparing for their opponent this week. The Bruins are led by QB Nico Iamaleava but the team piled up nearly 300 yards on the ground. The game set for 4:15 p.m. PT in Pasadena.
Aztecs All In: Postgame Special Aztecs 53. Vikings 20

In the Aztecs' first football game of the 2026 season, they put up 53 points, most ever under coach Sean Lewis and the most since 2016, when the Aztecs blanked Hawai'i 55-0. Host Steve Perez was at the game and has comments from Coach Lewis along with those of leading scorer Lucky Sutton, and leading tackler Sione "Riz" Hala on the 53-20 win over Portland State. Scores from around the Pac-12 and from the game involving next week's opponent: UCLA. And if you can't get enough of the Aztecs Fight Song, "tune in" for yet another version.
Aztecs All In: Episode 125 Football Season opener looms

Host Steve Perez on the depth chart changes apparent leading up to the Aztec football team's season opener against Portland State. Head coach Sean Lewis provides background on that and captains Joseph Borjon and Max Garrison discuss continued preparations for the game and what being an Aztec for Life means to them. Also, John David Wicker, Aztecs Director of Athletics, Chris Uchida, CFO Palomar Holdings Inc. and Erik Judson, CEO of JMI Sports with details on an expanded partnership involving a valued piece jersey real estate. Meantime, "JD" lobbies yet again for passage of federal legislation that would bring some semblance of order to the rapidly changing college football landscape in the face of ongoing litigation and the availability of many dollars on offer around the game today. And last but most certainly not least, Randy Scovil joins in the proceedings with his take on the game against Portland State, along with a report on some of those other sports on the Mesa that JD and others in the college sports world are trying to protect.

Aztecs All In: Episode 124 Fall Camp Week 4

Host Steve Perez with coaches and players wrapping up the final week of camp but there are many game faces already showing with the Sept. 5 opener now in view. Head coach Sean Lewis with preparations that include announcements of team captains that include some “hometown heroes, last-minute competition for positions and playing time along with his big picture view of the college game. Linebacker Tano Letuli is one of those guys who stops by for a visit, and also comes clean on how he handled the team’s recent water balloon fight. His position coach is Scott White, a local prep star in his own right, who talks linebackers and the other key player at the position, senior transfer Sione “Riz” Hala. White also lobbies the PPR on KUSI-TV for more airtime for his alma mater.

The Aztecs women’s soccer team loses a match against No. 10 Washington, but it wasn’t by much and have a chance to get back in the win column on the Mesa on Sunday, Aug.23. The Aztecs football squad continues to stack fall camp days…some positions settled, a few others…not so much. Head coach Sean Lewis stops by to weigh in on the squad’s development to this point and we hear again about life in the trenches. Defensive line coach David Lose returns to remind how rough it is there, which Aztecs offensive lineman Joseph Borjon doesn’t deny. New center Isaac Lucas breaks down his spot on the line, receivers Nathan Acevedo and Bert Emanuel Jr., the former QB, talk speed, route running and throwing a block or two. Safeties coach C.J. McGorisk and transfer Isaiah Green discuss the varied roles of the five backs in the 4-2-5 defense. And while the placekicker position on special teams remains an ongoing competition, the punting job is now manned by Tashi Dorjet. Special teams coach Zac Barton fills us in on the key third phase of the game.

He also aids in a review of the cornerbacks position including comments from Jelani Whitmore who is returning from injury for his senior season and Mike Lindsay, a sophomore transfer from Idaho State.
