Israel Is Losing the Information War | Dr Einat Wilf
2026/09/30
Dr Einat Wilf, a candidate with the joint Reservists/Economists List, joins Israel in Ten to explain why she believes Israel must start treating the information war as a central battlefield — and lays out her vision for the future of the West Bank, Judea and Samaria.
Breaking news is Israel as a flydubai passenger plane bound for Tel Aviv makes an emergency landing in Saudi Arabia after what Israeli officials say was an attempted hijacking by one of the pilots. Officials say the pilot stabbed a colleague in the cockpit before crew members and Israeli passengers subdued him and regained control of the aircraft.
More than 100 Israeli passengers were on board and all are reported safe. Israeli security officials are treating the incident as a suspected terror attack, and arrangements are under way to bring the passengers back to Israel.

2026/09/29

US forces are set to leave their final bases in Iraq by Wednesday. Iran and its allies are calling the withdrawal a victory, while Iraqi officials warn it could boost Tehran’s influence and give ISIS room to regroup.
And Hamas is facing a new cash problem in Gaza. Asharq Al-Awsat reports that traders are switching to payment apps and refusing cash — while Hamas operatives are still being paid in banknotes. Israel is also targeting money changers used to move funds to the group.

A former senior Mossad official says he knows of no Egyptian or Emirati warning before October 7, despite reports that both countries alerted Prime Minister Netanyahu.
US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent says Iran could run out of oil to sell within two weeks. He believes the pressure is pushing Tehran towards a deal, but Iranian state media says no talks are planned.

Yes, M. Macron, Hamas IS in the West Bank | Khaled Hassan
2026/09/23
French President Emmanuel Macron has come under fire after claiming Hamas does not operate in the West Bank. Middle East analyst Khaled Hassan joins Israel in Ten to discuss Macron’s comments, the fierce criticism of Israel at the UN General Assembly — and what he sees as Europe’s increasingly defeatist approach to terrorism.
Iran has laid out its terms for ending the seven-month war with the United States, demanding an end to US military action, the naval blockade and sanctions, as President Trump warns Tehran to make a deal or face further devastating action.
Fresh US sanctions are beginning to ground Iranian airlines, with Iraq, Oman and Georgia refusing flights as Washington intensifies its economic pressure on Tehran.

Israel says it has eliminated Hamas financial chief Muhammad Abu Alwan in Gaza, while the IDF denies reports of recent Hamas attempts to kidnap Israeli soldiers.
And the global economy is proving more resilient to the Iran war than expected, with the OECD actually raising its growth forecast for this year despite months of disruption to Gulf energy supplies.

2026/09/22
Yemen’s Houthis are continuing their advance against Saudi-backed forces along the Red Sea coast. Misgav international affairs analyst Noa Lazimi joins Israel in Ten to explain why the Houthis are becoming increasingly independent of Iran — and who, if anyone, can stop them as Riyadh appeals for outside help.

Forget Oil — We’re Running Out of Interceptors | Dr Eric Mandel
2026/09/17
President Trump says he hopes the seven-month war with Iran is nearing an end. But Dr Eric Mandel argues that neither rising oil prices nor the approaching US midterm elections is the greatest concern. He warns that America’s dwindling stockpile of missile interceptors could leave it dangerously exposed in Asia. We also discuss Trump’s vision for the region—and why the United States should think carefully before allowing an unstable Saudi regime to acquire nuclear capabilities.
A senior US Democrat is holding up a proposed 2.8-billion-dollar bomb sale to Israel. Congressman Gregory Meeks says Washington has not provided sufficient assurances about how the 40,000 munitions would be used in Gaza and Lebanon.
The leaders of France, Lebanon and Jordan are meeting in Paris to discuss support for the Lebanese army and a possible multinational force to replace UNIFIL. The Lebanese military is struggling to disarm Hezbollah—a key condition for an Israeli withdrawal from southern Lebanon.
Saudi Arabia is racing to repair a vital oil pipeline as the Houthis claim to have shot down one of the kingdom’s F-15 fighter jets over Yemen. Riyadh has not confirmed the loss. Saudi Arabia is also reportedly running short of missile interceptors and asking other countries to help replenish its stocks.
Israeli security forces have discovered a Nazi-era MG-34 machine gun on a rooftop in Hebron overlooking an IDF facility. Other operations across Judea and Samaria uncovered additional weapons and ammunition, with several suspects arrested.
Likud is challenging a campaign that offers discounted flights and other assistance to Israelis returning from abroad to vote. The party describes the benefits as an illegal electoral bribe, while the organisation behind the initiative says it is apolitical.
And Israel and Morocco are upgrading their diplomatic missions to full embassies. The two countries have also agreed to expand trade and restore direct flights by the end of the year.

Why Are the Lebanese Watching Fauda? | Dr Jacques Neriah
2026/09/16
Why are Lebanese audiences watching the Israeli TV series Fauda — and does it point to changing attitudes towards Israel? Col. Dr Jacques Neriah from the Jerusalem Center for Security and Foreign Affairs joins Israel in Ten to explain why he remains sceptical about the prospects for peace. He argues that Hezbollah still holds enormous power, President Joseph Aoun is no Anwar Sadat — and that Lebanon’s geography and internal divisions remain major obstacles to any breakthrough with Israel.
Saudi Arabia says it has intercepted a Houthi drone heading towards restricted airspace over Mecca, in what Riyadh describes as the second attempted attack on Islam’s holiest city. The drone was destroyed south of Mecca on Tuesday night, with Saudi officials warning that the security of the Two Holy Mosques is a “red line.”
Amnesty International says Iran committed crimes against humanity during its crackdown on the 2022 protest movement, including murder, torture, rape and enforced disappearances. The rights group says Tehran used many of the same tactics against demonstrations earlier this year — on what it describes as an even wider and deadlier scale.
The Trump administration is preparing a 2.8-billion-dollar weapons package for Israel, including 40,000 two-thousand-pound bombs. The proposed sale would significantly strengthen Israel’s ability to strike hardened and underground targets. The Biden administration had previously paused one shipment of the bombs over concerns about civilian casualties in Gaza.
Israel’s Defense Minister Israel Katz says a renewed full-scale war in Gaza is only a matter of time and that the IDF is ready to “finish the job” of dismantling Hamas once the order is given. Katz says that would also clear the way for what he describes as a voluntary migration plan for Gaza’s Palestinians.
And Israel’s culture minister is asking the Shin Bet to investigate the sources behind the controversial Gaza documentary NAZA, including whether sensitive security information was leaked and whether Hamas or other hostile actors were involved. Miki Zohar has also called for authorities to examine revoking the Israeli citizenship of directors Yuval Abraham and Rachel Szor.

Could the Houthis Bring Israel and Saudi Arabia Together? | Prof. Kobi Michael
2026/09/15
The Houthis are escalating their attacks on Saudi Arabia — but could the growing threat create an opportunity for Israel? Misgav’s Prof. Kobi Michael joins Israel in Ten to explain how Israel could help Riyadh confront the Houthis in ways the United States cannot — and why deeper security cooperation could ultimately boost the prospects of an Israeli-Saudi normalisation deal.
The Houthis have stepped up attacks on Saudi Arabia, with 13 civilians wounded in ballistic missile and drone strikes on several cities. The group has also targeted Saudi oil infrastructure, seized strategically located islands in the Red Sea and is attempting to disrupt Saudi shipping through the Bab el-Mandeb Strait. Riyadh says it will take whatever measures are necessary to protect the kingdom.
Israeli security forces say they have foiled another planned terror attack. A 19-year-old Arab Israeli from Kafr Kassem has been arrested on suspicion of planning an October 7th-style attack. Authorities say Mustafa Issa had amassed training equipment and weapons, searched online for combat training material and downloaded instructions for making explosive devices.
Iran says it is shutting the door on talks with Washington — at least for now. Tehran’s security chief says there will be no negotiations until Iran’s conditions are met, dismissing President Donald Trump’s offer of talks as “mixed signals.” Iran is demanding that sanctions be lifted and that the US and Israel compensate it for damage sustained during the war.
America’s war with Iran has cost more than 33 billion dollars — and depleted US weapons stocks. A Pentagon watchdog says 22 billion dollars was spent on munitions alone during Operation Epic Fury. The report warns that the scale of weapons use created “strategic inventory shortfalls” and exposed serious problems replenishing America’s arsenal.
And Israeli troops have uncovered Hezbollah rocket launchers containing 32 rockets ready to be fired from southern Lebanon into Israel. The IDF says troops also dismantled a Hezbollah hideout containing an underground shaft. The military says the launchers had been left in the area before the ceasefire came into effect.

Bibi. Arabs. Haredim. The Politics of Hate. | Gil Hoffman
2026/09/14
Bibi. Arabs. Haredim. The Politics of Hate. | Gil Hoffman
Israel is now just 43 days away from election day, with Gadi Eisenkot’s Yashar party still leading in most polls — but with no clear path to forming a government. Veteran political analyst Gil Hoffman joins Israel in Ten to explain why Israel may be heading for yet another electoral deadlock. He also argues that much of Israeli voting behaviour is being driven less by a positive vision for the future than by fear, resentment and political hatred.
The IDF says it has thwarted a terrorist shooting attack in Judea and Samaria, arresting a Palestinian suspect near Hebron who was allegedly planning an imminent attack on Israeli civilians during Rosh Hashanah. Security remains heightened across Israel for the High Holidays, with thousands of police and Border Police personnel deployed at holy sites and other crowded locations.
Iran is blaming Israel for growing tensions between Tehran and Gulf states, saying Israel is the only country benefiting from the crisis. Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Baghaei has also dismissed reports of activity at Iran’s Pickaxe Mountain as baseless, after President Donald Trump said the US was monitoring the site and could strike it. Baghaei says Saudi Arabia requested the postponement of talks between Iran and Gulf states that were due to take place in Oman.
Oil prices are climbing sharply, nearing 108 dollars a barrel after Saudi Arabia shut a key export pipeline following multiple attacks. The East-West pipeline allows Saudi crude to reach the Red Sea without passing through the Strait of Hormuz, where shipping is already heavily disrupted by the war with Iran. Its closure is raising fresh fears of a global supply crunch, with analysts warning prices could rise much further if the pipeline remains offline.
Protests have broken out across Syria over a sharp rise in fuel prices. Demonstrations have been reported in several parts of the country after the government announced overnight increases in petroleum prices. Syria’s Energy Ministry blamed higher global supply costs and maintenance at the Baniyas refinery, insisting the rises are temporary and linked to exceptional circumstances.
And Israel’s culture minister is calling for two Israeli filmmakers to be stripped of their citizenship after their Gaza war documentary won a prize at the Venice Film Festival. Miki Zohar accused Yuval Abraham and Rachel Szor of “treason,” saying they were damaging Israel in order to win applause abroad. Their film, NAZA, makes allegations about IDF conduct and civilian casualties in Gaza. The IDF rejects the central claims, saying the documentary relies on anonymous testimonies that cannot be independently verified. Gadi Eisenkot has also condemned the film as distorted and one-sided.

How Qatar and Turkey Influence Western Minds | Eitan Fischberger
2026/09/10
Turkey and Qatar have become highly adept at using the language of human rights — and seemingly independent media platforms — to push their own political narratives. OSINT analyst Eitan Fischberger joins Israel in Ten after exposing direct links between the Turkish government and a hugely successful online news platform. He warns that many Western audiences have no idea they are consuming Turkish and Qatari state-backed messaging.
Iran-backed Houthi forces have seized Yemen’s strategic port city of Mokha after days of fighting with Saudi-backed forces. Yemeni troops were forced to withdraw after suffering heavy casualties, giving the Houthis control of another key point on the Red Sea coast close to the Bab Al Mandeb shipping route.
Pakistan has hit back at criticism that it is failing to defend Saudi Arabia from escalating Houthi attacks, insisting it will act under the Mecca defence pact “when the time comes.” Islamabad says no military response is currently under discussion, despite the pact stating that an attack on Pakistan, Saudi Arabia or Turkey is considered an attack on all three. Pakistan has meanwhile warned Iran to rein in its Houthi allies.
Australia is preparing further targeted measures over Israeli settlement activity while stopping short of a full trade ban. In Britain, Foreign Secretary Ed Miliband says security cooperation with Israel should continue despite worsening diplomatic ties — while Reform UK leader Nigel Farage has promised that a future Reform government would reverse what he calls the damage Labour has done to UK-Israel relations.
Benjamin Netanyahu’s Likud party is accusing Palestinian political figure Mohammed Dahlan of foreign interference in Israel’s election, claiming he was behind a disputed Haaretz report alleging that the UAE warned Netanyahu ahead of October 7th. Likud says Dahlan is seeking to weaken Netanyahu as he pursues his own ambitions in Gaza, and is demanding a criminal investigation into alleged foreign involvement.
The UN nuclear watchdog has closed its nearly two-decade investigation into Syria’s undeclared nuclear programme, citing cooperation from the country’s new government. But the IAEA is taking the opposite approach with Iran — referring Tehran to the UN Security Council over nuclear non-compliance, the first such move in 20 years.
And as Israel’s relations with some traditional European allies deteriorate, it is strengthening ties elsewhere. Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar has opened Israel’s first embassy in Slovenia.

Will the Next October 7th Come From the West Bank? | Ruth Wasserman-Lande
2026/09/09
Could the next October 7th-style attack come from the West Bank? Misgav’s Ruth Wasserman-Lande joins Israel in Ten after Defence Minister Israel Katz accused the Palestinian Authority of involvement in a plot to attack Israel. She warns about the presence of tens of thousands of heavily armed Palestinian security personnel and asks whether Israel can afford to take further security risks in Judea and Samaria. We also discuss Britain’s decision to sanction Jewish communities there — and the growing international pressure on Israel to withdraw.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu says he will sue Haaretz and journalist Shlomi Eldar over a report claiming the United Arab Emirates warned him about Hamas ahead of October 7th. Netanyahu’s office calls the story “completely fabricated” and politically motivated. Haaretz says it stands by its reporting.
Iran says it fired ballistic missiles at a US-used base in Jordan and attacked ten ships in the Strait of Hormuz, after the United States destroyed five Iranian oil tankers. Jordan says it intercepted almost all of the missiles, while renewed fighting has pushed Brent crude close to 100 dollars a barrel.
At the same time, Iran’s oil revenues are rapidly drying up under the US naval blockade. No Iranian oil has passed through the Strait of Hormuz since mid-July, while offshore stocks could run out as early as next month and inflation has climbed above 80 percent.
Qatar has posted its biggest quarterly budget deficit in almost a decade as the war devastates its gas exports. Unlike Saudi Arabia and the UAE, Qatar has no alternative export route around the Strait of Hormuz, leaving much of its LNG effectively trapped. The IMF now expects the Qatari economy to shrink by more than eight percent this year.
Britain’s Foreign Secretary Ed Miliband is defending a new trade ban targeting Jewish communities in Judea and Samaria, despite Israel’s decision to close the British consulate in eastern Jerusalem in response. Britain’s Chief Rabbi Ephraim Mirvis has called the move “a dark day for British Jews.” Miliband, who is Jewish, says he respects the chief rabbi — but disagrees.

Britain’s Israel Spat is About Muslim Votes | Josh Howie
2026/09/08
Britain is banning imports from Israeli communities in Judea and Samaria — the latest hostile move by the Labour government after its decision to recognise a Palestinian state in the wake of October 7th. Israel has warned it will retaliate, while the United States says there will be repercussions. GB News host and commentator Josh Howie joins Israel in Ten to argue that the timing, just before Rosh Hashanah, is no accident — and that the move is a cynical attempt to win Muslim votes.
Saudi Arabia has vowed a tough response after Iran-backed Houthis launched dozens of missiles and drones at targets across the kingdom, wounding at least 73 people and hitting energy sites in the southwest. The Houthis say the barrage was retaliation for more than 100 Saudi airstrikes in Yemen over the past three days.
The Prime Minister’s Office strongly denies a report that Benjamin Netanyahu was personally warned of a major Hamas attack in the days before October 7th. Haaretz says UAE President Mohammed bin Zayed issued the warning, and that Egypt also raised concerns. The PMO calls the report “an absolute lie,” while Naftali Bennett says he knows “for a fact” that it is true.
Iran could run through its offshore oil stocks by mid-October, with around 29 million barrels believed to be stored at sea, much of it destined for China. Tehran is also threatening new restrictions on shipping in the Gulf, adding to pressure on key regional energy routes.
Lebanon and the United States are discussing new ways to verify Hezbollah’s disarmament south of the Litani River. Options reportedly include extending UNIFIL’s mandate, deploying a European force or bringing in troops from individual countries. Israel has so far approved only Azerbaijan among those being considered.

Politics Special | Lahav Harkov
2026/09/07
Misgav Senior Fellow and Jewish Insider Senior Political Correspondent Lahav Harkov joins Israel in Ten to assess the political landscape with just 50 days to go until Israel’s election.
Is Ofer Winter a flash in the pan, or can he go all the way? And how can he present himself as a political outsider while pledging to nominate Benjamin Netanyahu for prime minister?
What do we really know about former IDF Chief of Staff Gadi Eisenkot’s policies, as his Yashar party consistently polls ahead of Likud? Is he offering a distinctive political vision, or is his appeal primarily built around being “anyone but Bibi”?
Why is former Prime Minister Naftali Bennett struggling in the polls? And did he make a mistake by merging his party with that of former Prime Minister Yair Lapid?
Why would Israel’s Haredi parties consider joining a coalition with a party whose ideological roots are linked to the Muslim Brotherhood?
And does Mansour Abbas represent the success of Arab-Jewish political coexistence in modern Israel, or are his critics right to be concerned about his long-term aims?

Mecca Pact Versus Abraham Accords | Asher Fredman
2026/09/03
As Iran attacks its Arab neighbours across the Gulf, Asher Fredman, Executive Director of the Misgav Institute, joins Israel in Ten to ask whether it is time for regional powers to pick a side. We look at the muted response from Turkey and Pakistan to Iran’s attacks and what that says about the newly formed Mecca Accords — compared with the Abraham Accords, where Israel has demonstrated its willingness to help defend its partners. Fredman argues that the Abraham Accords are not only an alliance, but also a powerful deterrent.
Iran has launched missiles and drones at Kuwait, Bahrain, the UAE and Iraqi Kurdistan, as its confrontation with the United States escalates. Israel is warning Tehran against widening the conflict, with Defense Minister Israel Katz saying any Iranian attack on Israel would trigger strikes on the regime’s critical infrastructure, including its energy sector.
The US military says 40 oil tankers carrying around 18 million barrels of oil crossed the Strait of Hormuz after switching off their tracking systems. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth has extended the deployment of US ships, aircraft and air-defense units in the Middle East into next year, suggesting Washington is preparing for a prolonged confrontation with Iran.
The US-Saudi nuclear agreement has been sent to Congress amid concerns over proliferation. According to the Wall Street Journal, the deal could eventually allow Saudi Arabia to enrich uranium domestically to around 20 percent — and does not make normalization with Israel a condition.
France and Spain are pushing for tougher EU measures against Israeli settlements, including a ban on settlement goods, while Britain is considering similar measures. Meanwhile, the UN’s World Food Programme says funding shortages will force it to halve the number of Palestinians receiving food assistance in the West Bank this month.
