Description

Conversations about creativity, confidence, and carving out your own path. You do not have to be an artist to be creative. You don't have to have it all figured out, or call yourself creative, or have been the one who was always ‘good at art’. Even just feeling it a little bit is enough and that's where we start. In each episode I talk with people from all walks of life about their relationship with creativity. Where it came from, how it shows up in their work and their life, and what it's given them. Some have always known they were creative, some were told they weren't and all of them have something worth hearing. I'm Imogen Partridge, a watercolour artist, workshop facilitator, and someone who believes creativity is one of the most undervalued tools we have for understanding ourselves and connecting to the world around us. These conversations are part of how I'm working that out, and I’d love you to come along and discover it with me. For anyone who has ever wondered what creativity really means for them. This is for you.

Episode 03: Katie Chappell — "I Got Too Good at Marketing"
2026/09/30
This week I'm joined by lovely Katie Chappell, illustrator, educator and one third of The Good Ship Illustration alongside Helen Stephens and Tania Willis. After building a successful live illustration business working with clients including Google, Adobe and Apple, Katie accidentally got ‘too good at marketing’, (great problem to have I guess!), set up an agency, got burnt out, scaled it back, and is now helping other illustrators get visible and well paid for their work instead. We talk about visibility for illustrators and creatives, giving yourself permission to pivot even when something is working, the difference between good work and getting booked, and what to do when you're in a creative dip.  It was such a joyful conversation and I could talk to Katie all day about this stuff! I really hope you enjoy it! Thank you so much for listening and I would love to hear what you thought of the episode. Episode 02: Emma Jeffery — "I Saw a Problem and I Wanted to Solve It"
2026/09/23
My guest today is Emma Jeffery, women's movement coach, founder of The First Six Weeks, The Postnatal Plan and Smart Move, and the expert voice on returning to exercise postpartum in Davina McCall's bestselling book Birthing. She's also become a wonderful close friend of mine so this was a lovely relaxed chat. We talk about Emma's journey from chartered surveyor and asset manager in London to building an online business helping women with movement at every stage of life from post partum to menopause. We get into creativity in unexpected places, problem solving, building a business, pottery, and we talk honestly about finding time for the things that bring you joy, light you up, about self compassion, and why doing a little bit is always enough. Emma also talks about human design, perimenopause, and why sometimes you need to pay for the accountability to make yourself do the thing. A really lovely conversation with a really wonderful human. I hope you enjoy it. Episode 01: Nicky Denson-Elliott — "I'm Very Creative. It Took Me Decades to Realise It"
2026/09/16
My very first guest is Nicky Denson-Elliott. Feminist founder, community builder and host of Women's Business podcast. Nicky spent 15 years in events before starting a kids clothing brand, launching her podcast, then building The Wilder Collective. In this conversation we talk about how creativity gets defined too narrowly, why so many people are told they're not creative when they absolutely are, how capitalism plays into the value we place on creative work, and what it means to live a creative life (and how lots of us are doing it without even knowing it). Nicky also shares her petition to rename the term hysterectomy in NHS patient materials, we mention her Good Girl Economics research and a podcast episode which discusses that and we incredibly DIDN’T talk about Wilder Live, Nicky’s amazing event coming on October 14th, with speakers, workshops, a live podcast recording and amazing humans to network with. I went last year and can highly recommend it. I’ll link all of this in show notes. It was a brilliant first conversation (except for some sound issues I discovered when editing), So thank you Nicky for being my first guest and thank you to you all for your patience while I learn!
