7. The Final Cut
2026/10/22
Every film is made three times: the script, the shoot… and the edit. From director Georgia Oakley's daily voicenotes from set, to working with composer Roger Goula and his beautiful score, to finding the perfect ending to the movie in the edit, join editor Izzy Curry, director Georgia Oakley, and producer India Flint as they dissect the final stage of the production process of bringing this new adaptation of “Sense and Sensibility” to the screen. 6. Natural Dyes and Deconstructed Bonnets
2026/10/20
Our brilliant costume designer Grace Snell and director Georgia Oakley talk to producer Jo Wallett. This is a fascinating insight into all the inspired choices, curations and creations that went into establishing the ‘look’ of the movie through costume. From deciding to set this adaptation in the late 1790s - a transitionary period for fashion, to the palette emerging through the use of natural dyes, the fresh takes on bonnets, and conveying a feeling of intimacy, sisterhood and relatability through how our Dashwood women dress, reuse and share cherished items of clothing. Notes: Grace Snell joined the conversation from a remote part of Scotland, with some occasional patchy wifi! In this episode Georgia also speaks to the approach with Hair & Make Up Design for this adaptation of Sense and Sensibility, and how she collaborated with our talented designer Nadia Stacey, who had hoped to join this conversation but was busy on set! 5. Shooting on Film, Shooting on Location
2026/10/17
In this episode, production designer Francesca di Mottola, cinematographer Arnaud Potier and director Georgia Oakley chat to producer Tim Bevan about their collaborative relationship and how they created the world of the movie together. From finding the locations, palette and an undone earthy aesthetic, to creating a never-ending magic hour for The Hop, to street-casting dogs, and contending with the elements on Dartmoor, this is a wonderful insight into the choices made and the challenges faced in bringing this world to life. A gentle warning, dearest: this episode contains language unbecoming of polite society, so do forgive our occasional lapse in decorum. Notes: During the chat, Daisy references a Martha Graham quote, which a director shared with her. The full quote can be found in Dance to the Piper by Agnes de Mille. Hosted on Acast.
