This isn't exactly filmmaking, but it feels important to me, maybe it's important to you. I'd love your thoughts on this one, and if this topic is interesting to people I can dig into it a bit more.

When I first met Jon Bregel, he was on a trajectory straight out of this atmosphere. Phantom Cameras, Russian Arms, Massive Clients, and world travel. He founded a company called Variable, and they were 100% the cool kids on the block. I always envied them, and admired them. Every member of Variable I ran into was talented and kind, so I was shocked when shortly after I met them, Variable shut down their business. It was a mystery that chewed me up for years, and I finally decided to ask Jon about it. This is that conversation.
