For over 10 years, Sarah Collins has been searching for her daughter, Emily Kelsey Collins after reporting her missing in 2009, hoping she wasn't murdered. Kelsey was reported to have gone missing just three weeks after testifying against her traffickers. Unseen: The Trafficked Truth Podcast hasn't covered a missing case before but this was important to be told especially with the ongoing awareness of Missing and Murdered Indigenous People and this tragic correlation to sex trafficking. Welcome to another amazing episode with Kristin Howard and her wonderful family. In season 3, episode 4 we heard facts and truths shared about Kristins life in and exiting the game while her family was there.  It wasn't easy as they explained it but they realized she was being sex trafficked, not just stripping, by who all thought was just her "boyfriend". This is common but not talked about especially within marginalized communities. In this episode, we are going to dive deeper into helpful conversations to aid parents and siblings whose loved one is in the life and how to support them. Join Victoria and a new guest , Estella, for the first episode of Season 4. Dive in hard as they cover the story of  the brave escape by a 14 year old who was tricked by Trevien Thomas, aka Triggah,  from Dallas to Houston in 2016. She managed to escape after being controlled, drugged, and raped for 5 days in various motels in Houston. Victoria will try and breakdown terms used in the article and mention things unseen from those who may not know about CSEC and sex trafficking. She is 25 years old and was trafficked and exploited for 10 years by her parents. Harper discusses the realities that she didn’t have the dramatic escape you see in the movies. When she was 19 years old, she simply left without asking and she shares it was the scariest thing she ever did. Shell share the truths behind the long journey of being in a safe place, away from her abusers, but suffering emotionally and physically.  Six years had passed before she learned that what happened to her was Sex trafficking. Now she is on a mission to make sure other survivors don’t have to wait years before they receive the help they need.
